According to AP descriptions of the book, Jobs was apparently so angry with Google over its Android operating system that no financial settlement would do. He just wanted it gone.

"I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong," Jobs said. "I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this."

Lol, why would that make him look evil? There's something quite wrong with your judgement of good and evil

Ahh well, I just feel bad for the people who use Apple's iOS which is for the wealthy, and Android, which as all open source things do, they slowly become closed. I personally will purchase a Windows Phone handset if I had a choice, or when I have the choice because of the beautiful functionality, all the features, too many to list. Also, it's already at its point. You get what you see.

More reasons not to mourn his passing. Evil man. Shrewd business man, but not anybody I would ever look up to.

I would imagine he felt a lot like Xerox....

When ur willing and ready to kill your own brand to destroy an other is kinda evil in my books. Looks like this guy was picked on or was a bully in school.

I love seeing fanboys seep out. I didn't say anyone was right but I was attempting to see it from his perspective. He released ios and android comes out 10 months later with a similar look. I am not saying he was right to be angry or wrong to be angry but just attempt to see it from his side.

To be honest all of this suing from apple is bad but hey it doesn't make the man evil it simply makes him a businessman.

Business is not separate from ethics. Toss that ridiculous notion aside.

No, that is most certainly not true. He was a very unethical businessman, not just a businessman. You can not lump them all together like that. His tactics were brutal and he was willing to destroy his own company to see another one destroyed.

That is evil.

Edit: He was willing to put a LOT of people's jobs (and therefore lives, for some of them) at risk for his own insane idea that a company had wronged him in such a personal way, that he would use his company to seek personal gratification. That's pretty twisted.

this is what drive me nuts...it doesn't matter who it is. If they are a high profile person and then die traggicly they instantly become the best person in the world over night. Just becuase they are dead doesn't mean you should change your opinion of their actions. Especially when their actions are still afecting the world after they are gone.

I suppose the notion was made in more gest than seriousness but it doesn't come over well on the internet.

I suppose the notion of morals is one that is defined by different people but I personally wouldn't claim someone to be evil or morally reprehensible for wanting to take down another company which he felt infringed his own. At the same time I don't attempt to justify or condone he apparent single mindedness for taking down android.

The guy was so buttfrustrated that he was willing to spend FORTY BILLION DOLLARS to meet that end. Think about how much money $40,000,000,000 really is...and all the good things that one could do with it. Jobs certainly wasn't willing to use that money to better humanity in any way...no donations to charity, no social programs like scholarship funds, donations to scientific and/or medical research, etc. Nope...only so he could see his biggest competitor die. He was just an all around angsty, greedy, pathetic man.

I didn't celebrate when he died, but this is almost enough to make me reconsider.
