In order to permit folders who contribute regularly but do not have the resources to compete with the "big boys" and to enjoy the competitive aspects of folding and to have some fun, we are starting a team competition within Overclock.net. The team competition will have the following rules:
  • Each team is required to have exactly 4 members.
  • Each individual must fold under their own folding name and team 37726. We will tally the team scores and post updates on a regular basis.
  • The members of the winning team each month will have bragging rights, and their choice of prizes from Here

** When choosing a team name, please keep in mind that it needs to be done in good taste. If you are not sure if your new team name is acceptable, please ask before posting it.**
What you need to do
  • Each team should have a thread in the folding forum for their team. In the first post of the thread, each team member should be identified by their Overclock.net name and their folding name if it is different. The number of CPU cores contributed by each member should be identified as well.
  • If you have a partial team, create a thread for your team to recruit additional members. If you'd like to be more proactive in your recruitment, you can find members looking for a team here.
  • If you are looking to join a team, post your info here or respond directly to team threads that indicate the teams are looking for members. Include the number of CPU cores you are planning on contributing to the team.
  • One member of your team should be designated as team captain. The captain will receive any necessary PMs related to the competition.
  • Remember to fold for team 37726! Only points for our team will be counted in this competition (and for any other prizes on our site).
Please feel free to PM Blue_Devil or Lemans81, or post in this thread if you have any questions.

Ways to join/start a folding team:
  • Each folding team has a team thread with the number of team members, if any, they're looking for. Check these threads if you want to join a team.
  • Members looking for a team can also post in this thread.
  • Create a new thread in the folding forum, titled "Team <your team name> (3 members needed)". As you find team members, change the thread title to reflect your team's needs. PM me once your team is set up, so I can add you to the list.
Current teams

For a list of current teams, please view the folding teams forum and the team competition scoring thread.

Checking your folding stats at folding.stanford.edu. We'll be basing the number of active CPUs on the number reported in the last 7 days for each user. I'm guessing that if you do choose to run two copies of the program on an HT machine, it'll count as two. Check out the FAQ in my sig for more info on folding on HT machines.

You guys are in trouble. If I keep getting the work units that I've had lately it's going to be no contest.

Over the weekend I jumped from 85 to 75.

What's that smell? That's the smell of smoke from DAMC's pwn gun.

I'd like to sign up to join a team. Currently (specs have just changed, updating cp shortly) p4 3.0e(775) @ 3.8 2gb kingston (2x1gb)

thanks!! I am trying to get another CPU, I will make a seperate post but I have everything required to make a P4 socket 478 except the CPU! If anyone could suggest where I could buy a 2nd hand one cheap that'd be good, they are too expensive still to buy new..

thanks!

I'd like to set up a team called the "Pennsyltuckians For Folding Team" or "PFFT" for short. Yeah, it's a lame joke on different levels, but I like it!

Please post here or send me a PM here or on AIM if you're from PA (pronounced Pee-aye for you non-locals) and would like to join up!

I have two computers folding 24/7 (three tomorrow): The one outlined below; P4 1.5 @ 1.6; P4 1.6 (going up tomorrow).

EDIT:
I made a sweet-buns (hehe...) logo for the team. This is what happens when I get bored.

I'd almost be willing to ditch my current team for such a venture.

Oh come on, he has a cool banner, and people mistake his town for the town I grew up in all the time.

I updated the first post with an example of how a team with more than 8 CPUs should be broken down for the competition.

Guys,

I am interested in forming or joining a team. I have 3 pentium 3.0 GHZ's to work with, one is at work behind a firewall, but i can get around that i just need to know the settings..

one is overclocked to 3.82 stable, socket 775 w/ 2gb ram ddr400 (2x1gb kingston single channel) and will work 90% (it's the PC I use so sometimes I will nede to switch it off, but i work full time & sleep..so)

the other, a 3.61 overclocked 478 w/ 2 GB ram ddr400 (4x512 dual channel)

The third is a stock 3.0 ghz w/ 1gb ram (dont know the config, never opened it up or checked, i assumed 2x512 single channel) ddr400, this is my work pc and i am very tempted to overclock it

anyway pm me if your interested, and you will have 2.95 pentium 3.4~'s, and 5 GB ram at your mercy!!

(ps I have a farm too which i created this week, a p3 733 w/ 384 mb sd ram & amd athlon xp 1000 w/ 512 mb sd ram, but they work in a seperate team)

Any takers?

You can join our team, Overclock Foldowzers
http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...-need-one.html

With your 3 CPU's we will have the maximum 8 allowed in the comp.

I have sent you a pm, just send me one back if you are interested. (you may need to pm a mod and ask him to forward it to me.

thanks
