haven't done any mods to my eeepc 900 yet, but stock it runs Windows 7 flawless

Ubuntu 10.10 is especially awesome

only thing that would be really worth it would be more battery power so i can use it longer.

Just got one a guy won in a contest for $ 120 shipped

250 GB HD w/6 cell battery

I through a 2GB stick in it and cleaned up 7 starter a bit and dumped the crapware and this thing is downright snappy

Boots in 45 seconds

best 120 bucks I have spent in a long time

Only down side is this contest was in Tiwan ...

this one is not availible in the US

so the keyboard is in Chinese..............

you can probably go on ebay and buy a replacement keyboard in the language of your liking for around $20

at the moment i'm running a normal installation of win 7 x86 Pro without problems.
just did some extra tweaks for more speed and longer battery-life, but that's it.
gonna make it a dual-boot with Ubuntu 10.10 soon, since Ubuntu is even faster on it

true, when on battery power it downclocks to 630Mhz,
for windows there is a program called Eeectl that lets you control the cpu speed and fan speed, and you can even make it OC the cpu.
for Ubuntu (don't know about the other linux distro's) you can use eee applet or eeecontrol.
those 2 are basically the same as eeectl
