New Mobo = Stable RAM overclock is no longer

It's kind of a non-issue since I've ordered new RAM, but I'd like to find out my stable 1666MHz/7-9-7-24-2T/1.8v RAM overclock won't run on my new board. I'm also running the same CPU overclock as before, and even OC'd the IGP a bit.

The problem is that the system won't boot (0x50 error. Means memory could not be read) or it boots, the mobo reports it's single channel, and windows tells me that there's 4GB, but only 2GB is usable. Pain in the arse. I tried everything. I ordered some G.Skill PI's and I made sure they where on the Memory QVL list for my board. Now can someone explain why the board doesn't like my RAM?

0x50 is usually CPU instability actually

Sounds typical... It could be limited to the boards physical components too. Cheaper? Sounds like a model up, lol... Ive noticed the same kind of thing in 939. Bought a brand new board, was garbage compared to old junk one. Hope that helps, somehow...

I'll double check the manual, but I'm pretty sure it was a memory related error.

Yep. Here's what the manual says:

Quote:

0x50 - Memory initialisation error. Invalid memory type or incompatible memory speed.
0x51 - Memory initialisation error. SPD reading has failed.

etc. Board supports up to 1866 though.

Technically the same. Only real different thing is the AM3+ socket and that the RAM slots go Blue-White-Blue-White instead of Blue-Blue-White-White.
