About the game:

Gameplay

- A very random input block might occur when using bombs, during dynamic fistfights, and with some interactions. If you encounter this issue, please load a previous game save.

Possible fixes at this time for Steam Launcher issue:
Re-verify game files, try re-launching.
Try disabling anti virus, it's possible it is detecting the EXE as a false positive.
Try running the game in a lower resolution with Windows Mode rather than Full Screen.

Possible fixes at this time for the inability to install extra content on Steam:
Restart Steam and run as administrator.

Q: What is UberSampling and should I enable or disable it to improve performance?:

This game is looking nuts, I haven't actually gotten around to playing the first game but I've always been very interested, just never actually picked it up.

Gonna pre-order this game soon, need an RPG since I've been playing so much shooters lately. If Witcher 1 drops to 5 bux, I'll grab that too.

I am just kinda mad that I heard they have a transfer option similar to mass effect and I didn't know the 2nd witcher was going to have this feature so i deleted my saves

The first was one of the best rpgs i played for the pc so I can't wait.

I need to beat the first Witcher before grabbing this one. Back then I had a pretty weak PC, so I couldn't really enjoy the game to the fullest, which caused me to stop playing it.

Play the first one...easily the best RPG I've played so far...can't wait for the 2nd one

I know, I've heard so many good things about it. I just feel like playing the first one this close to the release of the second one will kill the 'new' feel, since I will be essentially playing the same game back to back.

I'll just read the back story on wikipedia or something for Witcher 1, then play through it later after a Steam sale.

Playing through the first game at the moment. Continued a save file I had from over 2 years ago. Surprisingly easy to jump back into.

You can get Witcher 1 EE For $5 when its released on GOG http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_witcher

Currently says $9.99 but for a limited time only it will be $4.99 on the 10th of may till TW2 is released i think

Buy it from there DRM Free and get loads of goodies :3

nope.

You will want to play it, so that you have a save to import, and so that you can experience the epic story.

The combat and everything about the original has been upgraded and changed. The combat and character leveling system has been entire overhauled. The combat is 100% different from the first game.

It is not possible for the new one to play like the first one. You owe it to yourself to play the original RPG of the year before the new RPG of the year comes out.

Bought it 5 times and sent 4 copies to my best friends on steam, just to support the company more.

This company supports and listens to it's fans (more than any other company i've seen), offers free DLC which is actually good and lengthy, etc. They completely re-did the Witcher and then offered it for FREE for anyone who bought the original Witcher. What other company has put that much time and money into a game and then offered it for free?

Support them the most you can, we need more companies like this.

This is the first game in over a year that i've bought at launch price, and i'm not hurting on cash. This is one of the few games that I actually think will be worth the full price.

If you are only going to buy one game this year, make it this one! Don't pirate this, show them that good dedicated PC games can sell well still.

I won't be buying it. I'll play it for 5 hours then quit, given that the 1st 2 hours don't kill me with boredom like all the other rpgs

Ya I had heard about that, I bet Steam price matches as well though I should buy from gog to support them as well.

This and Elder Scrolls V are the two games i am looking forward to the most this year. Nothing better than a rainy sunday afternoon with a nice rpg and a can of ginger ale....yes i am a nerd.

I hope Witcher 2 camera will be more like WoW.
Because in Witcher 1 you only have a choice between an overhead view with the stuck camera, that has does a crappy job of following your character, or an over the shoulder but then you can't click on stuff.

Why not make the camera free - floating and give the player the ability to adjust it and click on stuff?

it wont. the combat is entirely different from the first game.

I bought witcher 1 enhanced edition directors cut a while back, but the cut scenes don't work on my custom resolution of 1804x1004.

I play on an old 2007 46" samsung 1080p LCD, this TV did not come with a "fit to scale" 1:1 feature in its options like the modern tv's do. So i have to set a custom resolution in my nvidia panel since 1920x1080 goes beyond the borders of the screen, it cuts out my whole start menu bar on my desktop, and pretty much any kind of HUD in games.
