It's different than Steam. They have you enter your game key and then you download the game, then you install it. Took forever for BFC2 to download for me. I don't think theres any time limit, there shouldn't be. That would be ******ed.

That is inocorrect.

I bought 2142 and all its expansions on EA download manager along with BC2 and all my games still show up, can download whenever and install whenever.

Its a useless bit of software. but its EA's own little thing and EA loves to do its own thing. EA download manager has never caused issues or anything though.

Crysis warhead had its own DRM install limit, thats not thanks to EA download manager. Thats something you gotta take up with EA and get that counter reset.

OR

*cough* Google around*

Can I do this without that stupid EA download manager?
There is no "install file" from what I remember of it..EA download manager is a program that EA makes you install so you can download from their servers then I also believe it installs the game.

You can however delete EA Download Manger once your game is installed.

I remember back from the Battlefield:2142 days, that the EA Downloader version of BF2142 didn't require a physical CD in the drive in order to startup the game. How awesome is that?
Are you sure there isn't a way to extract the setup files for the game from your EA Downloader file directory on your local HDD?
Personally, I'm not a big fan of EA Download Manager or whatever it (used to be/) is called.
Way to go EA..
