Hello, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad R61i That I got from my school 2 years ago to use for school work.

Lately, the sound on its speakers are really low at max volume.

The others in my class with the same laptops have alot higher sound from their speakers.

Are there Any settings I can do to Turn the sound higher? Ive maxed it in controlpanel as much as I can.

Which version of Windows is on it?

Windows XP 32bit

Do you have a "Speaker Volume..." button in the window below? Of course, yours will look a little different.

If not, then do you have one in the control panel below?

If you have this button in either place, then click it, take all of the sliders all the way over to the right, and then click OK. After this, re-adjust the volume in the way that you're used to adjusting it, and then see if it's any different.

But if you don't have this "Speaker Volume..." button, then I don't know what else to do.

Oh. Well this makes me wonder if its control panel has some kind of setting where, if it's still set for Headphones, then the speaker output will be really low when the headphones are unplugged.

if i remember one controls the gain and the other does the volume.

There aren't any FN+Sound up/down, But there are buttons that mutes, sound up, sound down.

These are set at max
