hello, i've looking through these forums and while i'm starting to pick up on this a bit, i find i have more questions than answers. so, i decided to just show a few pics of my BIOS so u can see what i've got set, then maybe advice what i should set different . My problem now is how to configure my ram so it runs at it's rated speed. First, i loaded set defaults in bios to start fresh, then took a few pics at screens to see how it's default setting looks. Then i went to AI Overclock Tuner and set it D.O.C.P. [Profile #1] 1600mhz-7-8-7-24-2t-1.6V. My DRAM Freq. changed to 1600mhz. as well. Also i set amd turbo core tech. to disabled, and everything else is still default! By my pics, are these optimal for testing P95? I want to get this down before i start OCing the CPU! any more ram advice would be appreciated! The first 3 pics at default settings(left to right) the last two are after i switched RAM settings!

Looks pretty good so far. I haven't read any reviews about the kit being able to manage 1600 6-8-6 (due to different 4GB DIMM ICs... I'm not too sure), but you could try that out or 6-7-6 out! Raising the speed a bit (i.e. bump bus clock to run ~1800 7-8-7) should work too I think, or so I read once. 2x4GB kits can be pretty shady as for overclocking results while they're still in their infancy

Ok thanks, so as long as i use DOCP [profile#1 7-8-7-24-2T-1.6V] i'm running ram at it's rated speed correct? Do i need to manually set any timings in DRAM Timing Configuration or should these be set automatically? One more thing about the voltage, it's rated for 1.6 but it went to 1.62 in my CPUID screen shot. Can i manually set the Voltage lower? Please excuse all the questions, i'm just trying to learn the best way to do things!

The 8GB might give you a problem but if not you look good to go. As long as 1.6v is set in BIOS don't worry about what anything else says, BIOS is always right. To make sure your requested DOCP timings are set in BIOS click, DRAM Timing Config and see if 7-8-7-24 2T is listed in there. Then scroll down to DRAMv and make sure it's not above 1.65v. (my #1 DOCP 1800 setting raised my volts to 1.9v, in red with the message a voltage setting above 1.65v could damage the CPU) So I dropped it back down to 1.65v. Also under CPU Ratio you can click Enter and then type in your multiplier number instead of AUTO, 20-21 should be a good start, depending on what it's set at now. It's all a big experiment to equal everything out right. The DOCP is a big help.

ok, i changed ram settings to D.O.C.P. [Profile #1] 1600mhz-7-8-7-24-2t-1.6V and ran prime95 (blend test)for about an hour without any other changes to the BIOS and got no BSOD,errors ect.. My DRAM Voltage is set to 1.6 but stays at about 1.62V so would it hurt to lower the set DRAM Voltage 1 interval to 1.58? Keep in mind i haven't started OCing my cpu yet.
