What does it mean for a mousepad to "warp"?

My HP voodoo gaming surface (which has terrible reviews) seems to no longer be a flat surface after a few months of use. It seems to be elevated by the edges. Is this what warping is?

Will it affect my gaming negatively by a lot?

And which mousepad do you guys recommend for an mx518 mouse? I might switch to a G500/G700 in the near future.

If you like the MX518, the G500 would be a good choice. Similar shape, more features, great mouse. And yes, warping is when it bends some way other than flat. It might not really matter, but warp too much and it can affect your mouse being close enough to the pad or reduce movement.

If the edges of the pad warp upwards enough the rubber feet of it might even lose contact with your desk.

Mousepad wise, I'd say stay clear of the razer megasoma. Many mice have tracking issues on it including the G700 which I've tried recently. I love my Func surface with the 30R surface. Friction is really low on that one. Last time I checked almost no shops over here sold them anymore though
