Seems high. IDK really. My 570 idles at 36 C

thats about normal my idle temp without my Fan profile in trixx runs idle at 51c

i have never seen me 6950 at 30% fan speed idle no where near 33c. even set a fan profile right now mines at 44c 30% with a fan profile set

so does mine but no way im running 65% for that low temps 30% is giving me 44c which im happy with 65% is way to loud.

Mine is 42C @ 35%, I have seen it as low as 33C @ 26% but my room was cold and now its ~ 26C.

I did once & my computer started to hover. It was the craziest thing ive ever seen.

Not sure if 6950's are supposed to run hotter..

But my Sapphire HD6970 (stock volts, stock clocks) on iddle is at 36-40ºC on AUTO fan, which is at 25% (minimum).

Maybe it's just because of it being an HD6970, or maybe because I have a great air cooling case.

But I find 51ºC iddle a bit too high for auto fan.

Install trixx & set a custom fan profile. something like mine. It works awesome at full load. keeps temps nice. You can set it anyway you want. I try not to go over 46% cause it gets loud over 50%.

I think we have difference sensitivity on our ears.

I find it loud anything above 40%, so I try to keep it between 35% and 38% on full load, never goes above 85ºC on furmark.

Edit:

How can I make a custom fan profile with MSI AFterburner?

My 470 loads at that while folding.

Your 470 has an aftermarket cooler, which is more eficient.

I could simply grab an Accelero Xtreme and keep the card under 45ºC on load

But then again, I find the stock cooler quite sexy, so I don't want to move into any other coolign solution

I wouldnt download this. It may have just been me but sapphire trixx conflicted with my CCC drivers and threw my computer for a loop.

Just thought I'd share.

Mine runs at 40c with fan speed set to 24%.

It really comes down to your spesific case tbh, temperatures might vary quite a bit. But I can definitely say that 51c is a bit too hot.
