What is the optimal size for Full HD resolution ?
24" or 27" ?

Dotch pitch size pass from 0.278 to 0.311mm, is not excessive for games ?
From 24" to 27" there's more aliasing ?

And for web browsing and text reading the big size of screen is a problem for eyes ?
caracters is bigger but white pages ? The white pages like google's home page in a biggest size is not a issue for eyes.

Many people say 1920 x 1080 is too low a resolution on a 27" screen, but I say the complete opposite. 1080p looks great on my 27" and I can't pick out individual pixels from where I'm sitting which is pretty damn close.

Obviously the resolution will look better on a 24" screen, but it is by no means bad on a 27".

Without AA I can see Jaggies on my 24" 1080p, I can only imagine how bad 27" would be.

although if you have the GPU to put out loads of AA in game and don't mind all the jagged edges on other programs then a 272 wouldn't be too bad nut I would rather a larger res at that size.

23" actually would be the right size for 1080p with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
24" would be 1920x1200 native, with a 16:10 ratio, and 27" should be 2560x1440 with a 16:9 aspect.

Why? Why should they be that size? It's preference really. I myself would like 1920x1080 to be 17", and 2560x1600 24" etc, but it's not so.

Just get what you feel like is what you want.

My laptop is 1920x1080 at 17". You can get them.

As a side note, I run three 24" monitors at 1920x1200, and it's great. I'd say always go for the best dot pitch you can.

I speak of my own experience: I do not find dot pitch size make a difference in reading texts. And, I also do not need to apply a higher level of AA to the 27''. It is not that using 24'' would ease off the level of AA, if needed.
The biggest difference between 1080p at 24'' and 1080p at 27'' comes in those extra 3'' diagonal. The larger screen size enhances noticeably the visual experience (ie immersion). This factor outweighs the dot pitch and aliasing.

I agree that a bigger monitor is good no matter what.

But I do find Aliasing more noticeable on 27" 1080p monitors.

That's not a bad thing though - it just means you're seeing more of the game, more subtle details, and that's what immersion actually is.

Now sure, it would be nice to have a 4MP resolution at 24"+, but with 4xAA, I think the difference would be minimal.

Mostly a matter of preference. It took me a (brief) while to adjust to my 23" @ 1080p from my laptop's 15.6" 1080p screen.
Do I notice more pixels? Well, for the first few minutes, yes. But The size of the screen far outweighed that. Games might have (relatively) considerably more aliased edges at 27" but i doubt you will find this irritating since you have the GPU power to push a little more AA. Quite frankly though, its not nearly as bad as it might sound - for me at least.
Distance from the screen plays a HUGE role in how you will perceive both screens so take that into consideration. If the screen will be about 2-4 feet from you, then imo, go for the 24" @1080p or a higher resolution for the 27".
... and if the higher resolution makes your framerates suffer too much... well.... then you've just found a new excuse to throw another card in your rig

When I went from my 21.5in lcd (finally died) to my 50in plasma - I could see so much more detail in the environment, especially useful with a lot going on on-screen. I really love it. I sit 5 feet away from my 50in and was sitting 1.5-2ft from my 21.5in lcd. Actually, the maximum distance for me to read text on my 50in is 5ft, minimum 3ft (but start to see the pixels sometimes).

I'm personally debating getting the Samsung LED 24" w/ HDTV and vesa mountable, or the 27" without either... or waiting for the new 3D HDTV monitors next month. They are 24"/27" with or without HDTV and all have 120hz/3d capable with built-in IR emitter (no need for 3dvision bundle).
