It depends on the mouse

. DPI isn't the most important thing to consider. For FPS 400-1600 DPI mouse will be enough for almost everyone.

at what resolution?

for 1080/1200p its way too much

I always seem to need faster mice in faster paced games like Team Fortress 2 and am almost always running at max DPI when I'm playing offensively.

I find I game decently well on both my Logitech G5 and my Logitech MX518. I know it's a difference of 200 dpi but one being laser and the other being optical actually makes a pretty noticeable difference.

400.

Also, the build quality of the IME3.0, at least, the new versions [both Respawn/Legneds] is very cheap made.

And there are other issues with the wmo mouse. Saying pros use it therefore it must be great isn't a good statement imo... Look at the steel series kinzu

I used a 5400DPI and 1000. I like the 1000 better.

3500 DPI at 1920x1080 is too much to control using normal weapons for me. I only use it with machine guns or tanks.

I use my G9X @ 5200 as well, but only in one instance: BFBC2 while in tanks. You can't beat the responsiveness and you can survive a lot longer when surrounded.

It's all a matter of preference, you don't have to use extreme sensitivity, higher sensitivity does not in any way make a better mouse. The grip and feel of a mouse is most important to me...

That said I game FPS solely at 3200dpi (1080 res). I think having 5cms to move for a 180°C is convenient, but it takes getting used to. I worked up from 800/1600dpi/2500dpi when upgrading over the years, their was a fair adjustment period for each.
