Hello all, Yesterday I just got done putting together my new 2600k build and now have started to fold with it. However I have hit one little snag. I am using the folding@home version 7 beta and want to have my CPU and GPU fold at the same time. My CPU is maxed out at 100% while my GPU is only hovering around 32%. When I pause my SMP folding the GPU shoots up to 100%. What is the problem here? Is it a bottleneck? My GPU is a ATI 5770. Thanks!

Since you have an ATI card you need to free up a CPU core for it to run properly. You only have two cores and the GPU needs to use one so you should be running under unicore not SMP.
I'm not familiar with the v7 client (I use the 6.34 client) but check this post: http://www.overclock.net/12918157-post3.html
You should be able to highlight the SMP client and click "Configure" and check the circle under Uniprocessor.

How many CPU cores is the client using? I may have updated my post while you were reading it.

Yes. But if you want to fold on the GPU at 100% it needs a CPU core.
A perfect excuse to upgrade!

I'll probably stick with my current config because I am pretty sure my 2600k folding smp and bigadv can net me more ppd than my 5770. But I might tinker with it in the future. Thank you for your help!

I didn't realize you had a 2600k (your sig said Phenom II x2 955). Follow what I said above but instead of selecting unicore change the SMP to "3". That way you are using 3 cores for the SMP and a leaving a core for the GPU.
(I thought it was kind of wierd for you to mention -bigadv with a x2 955 in your sig)

Possibly. How many cores are at 100%? I'd say let it finish the WU and see what happens. It looks like if you restart the slot you could lose the WU.
