Mmm, I can't make up my mind so I seek counsel.

I agree with the ideals of the Scoia'tael very strongly but I'm also very strongly against their methods which happen to be killing innocent humans.

On the other hand, the Order is a cult of religious fanatics who hate non-humans and protect humans. Also evil, but in a more hidden way.

To be more specific, I'm asking do I side with Yaevin or Sigfried at the bank? I intend to choose neutral in Chapter 4.
This import is going into The Witcher 2, so I'd like not to have to do it again lol...

See below for the journal comments from the Identity quest:
Scoiatel path:
Quote:
Coincidences can't explain everything. I think I understand the ideals of the Scoia'tael, who are hounded and ostracized like witchers. But I disagree with Scoia'tael methods. I would even call some of Yaevinn's decisions juvenile and harmful to the cause of the nonhumans. I realized I'm working with the Scoia'tael because I share their ideals, though I disagree with some of their methods.
Order path:
Quote:
For purposes of my own, I had to choose a side and I just don't understand the nonhumans. It's not just about Yaevinn's juvenile ways that he tries to conceal behind lofty slogans. Elves and dwarves are alien to me, fundamentally different. I realized I'm working with the Order because the elves and dwarves are alien to me.
What I do know is that I'm not working with the Order because the elves and dwarves are alien to me, in fact they're not. The Scoia'tael comment fits perfectly though.

Reading the wiki would give you the answer you were looking for.

You can't choose to be neutral in that quest so you just have to pick one , although take in mind that you could still doublecross Yaevin once he gives you the letter though.

I've read the wiki a lot but I just can't make up my mind.

I don't mind having to choose but I like how it is in The Witcher 2 better, it feels different.

Apart from one or two lines, the decision dosn't make a difference in Witcher 2, just like most of the major decisions in the first Witcher, they count for squat in the sequel.

Yeah, I know it's just that I don't want to be thinking about whether I am happy with the choice I made later or not. And considering I'm doing it now I'm going to bet I'll do it later too lol.

The general consensus seems to be that trying to remain neutral is the hardest and least rewarding path to take in that game. I sided with the Scoia'tael, simply because I found the Order to be very obnoxious. Go with whichever one least annoys you. Ending is awesome either way

I decided to go with the Scoia'tael. Although I still may choose neutral in Chapter 4, we'll see.

Quoted for serious truth.

I sided with the Scoia'tael during my playthrough as well. It seems like with siding against The Order, you lose a lot of perks. My alternate suggestion would've been to make a duplicate save and try them both out, but it seems a little late for that.

The Order was f'ckin obnoxious at minimum. I couldn't stand how the Flaming Rose treated you up until this point in the game. Couldn't wait to get a piece of 'em.

The only thing I hated about siding with the order is Zoltan hates you so bad at the end of the game, start of the last chapter he spits on you.

The Squirrels are right to deserve better rights, but they are going about it in the wrong way.

Considering I'm not ever going to choose The Order again, I think siding with the Scoia'tael at the bank was a good choice. I can either choose Neutral, or the Scoia'tael. I had gotten up to that point but realized I missed sending the reply letter to triss, so I loaded back about half an hour or so and fixed that.

I'm going to keep saves before choosing so if I don't like the Scoia'tael result I can go Neutral as I already have once.
