So got my card at 910Mhz and 1250 on stock volts.

Tried 920Mhz and I'm pretty sure its not stable. The benchmarking tool I used stopped responding and crashed both times I tried which sounds to me like its not stable. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So I guess I need more voltage, easy enough I just have to unlock it in the MSI AB settings but there is an option to Force Constant voltage. Do I want this?

I figure if it lets the voltage throttle down when the card is idle, great. But I just wanted to check it wouldn't just let the graphics card use as much power as it liked and fry it.

Thanks for your answer(s).

I didn't think it would fry it, I was worried not using it might fry it.

If it only lets the voltage drop and not increase above my set level then thats all good I just wanted to check it didn't increase the voltage at free will above my set vcore.

You will have better options and control using Asus Smart Doctor, under settings to enable "Overclock Range Enhancement" and it increases the CCC max core clock to 1620 MHz and memory to 2500MHz.

No need to use registry hack to change the CCC clock limits.

I just booted it up and enabled that and thanks for the tip however I don't like that I cant save the OC or set it to various profiles :/ Its just not as good as MSI AB in every way other than that higher limit.

I can get 950Mhz in AB, I doubt a 6950 will even go higher than that with reasonable 24/7 voltage. or could it?

On air cooler no way. But you are doing quite well with 950MHz. Just watch for the load temperatures.

My load temperatures worry me but I had a thread about it and nobody seemed to share my concern. (They are like 55ish degrees at 900Mhz which I feel is weirdly low.)
