Thats what I do with Core Temp & Ati Tool. You just Alt Tab out of the game and you can see all the info

I think the point of his question was so that you didn't have to interrupt the game like that. You could just look down at the corner of the screen instead of alt-tabbing out.

I think RivaTuner would do both, but I know it'll at least do GPU temp.

Thanks! And yeah, the point here is to be able to monitor it continuously (sp?) while gaming. I had an issue where my processor would all of a sudden just start heating up and I didn't catch if before it hit 90C - a couple of seconds later it was 120C. It has just happened once, but that's two times too often for me

My Asus Probe gauges sometimes like to just stay on the screen, even if I'm gaming. I have no idea why...

Sounds like you've got some issues!

Just make sure not to read the current temperature when you ALT-TAB. Look at the graph for the temps 10s ago. GPU and CPU temps immediately drop when not under load.

If that's happening, something is wrong with your system. It should never ever just jump 30C. You need to test your system. Trying running Orthos + RTHDRIBL simultaneously for a few hours. While running, monitor your temps. This should stress your system and raise your temps more than any game.

Orthos: It is Prime95 with a GUI that suports multicores

www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/
RTHDRIBL: DirectX9 demo

Orthos will stress your CPU and RTHDRIBL will stress your video card. After 30 mins, you should be near maximum load temperatures.

I just discovered Orthos, and I prefer it to running dual instances of Prime95. Basically it makes your CPU work overtime. And in the case of Orthos, it appears to be running both cores 100%

The other program, which is at http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl

Is an HDR lighting analysis program. It runs all sorts of models under HDR effects, in order to push your video card.

Yeah, I know. Never happened before and never after. Only solution I can think of is if I suddenly got a lot of air in my water loop or something, but even that shouldn't cause something like that...

I've backed down on my OC anyway, and my cores are now 39/41 idle and low 50s at full load. Guess that's a lot more sane temps
