Hi right now im building a new computer and i want to test it out to see if it can turn on with only a motherboard and psu. I have all the psu plugs in the motherboard and the light flashing says it is on, but the psu fan and my case fans arent even working? Is the a problem with my motherboard or psu?
can you turn on a computer with only a motherboard and psu?

Most computers wont do anything without a CPU installed, period, you at least need a CPU, you could get by without RAM if you were testing to see if everything at least turns on...

You'll need the processor before you can check your PC's post status.
Make sure a hsf and motherboard speaker are installed as well.

to test the fans you can short the PSU to turn it on by using a paperclip to jump the green and black wires. That actually turns the power on to the PSU

Your speaker connection is the 4 pins in the top right of where you plug in your front panel wires.
