What is the difference between z68 and z77?

could someone explain this to me? i compared the difference between both chipsets on intel's website and i don't see anything different.

Z68 which the Ivy bridge back support it but it's old. the Z77 is newer and have newer technologies.
It comes down to your budget, Z68 price will drop even more as z77 coming close to be release. Now why spent money and get something older ?

i'm not buying something yet, i just find the z77 motherboards bad looking

PCI-e 3.0 is all i can about remember. Not worth upgrading if you're already on Z68 like myself, but if your buying a new board then go for a Z77.

I dont see the point in z77 Im just waiting for ivy to hit and hoping for a price drop on the 2600k and the asus maximus gene z/gen 3 z68 board. If no price drop the asus maximus is still a decent price atm so will grab that and the i5 ivy version.
