Omron D2FC-F-7N

Omron D2FC-3M

Omron Japan D2F-01F-T

Omron D2F-D2FC-F-7N(MS)

Omron D2FC-F-7N(10M)

Omron D2F-01F (Pro Edition)

Omron D2FC-G-7S

TTC White top (Standard)

HUANO White top

I ask this because the Imperator (maybe the model Omron D2FC-F-7N) of my brother after a year has had problems with double click...

Actually you only mention 3 different switches:

- variations of the D2F from Omron
- TTC white
- Huano white

Plese forget TTC (made popular by Razer as cheap cost down compared to Omron) and Huano (used by Zowie for unknown reasons, probably only switch brand willing to re-brand for them

Omron should be superior to TTC and Huano. However all mentioned Omron switches are variations of the same model:

D2FC-F-7N, 5 Million clicks lifecycle with no load, manufactured in china, huge OF and RF range.

D2FC-3M, cost down verison of above with 3 million clicks lifecycle

Omron D2F-D2FC-F-7N(MS), Omron D2FC-F-7N(10M), Omron D2FC-G-7S same as above with 10 Million clicks lifecycle with no load, possible to be a re-branded D2F-F, probably depends on demand. MS is microsoft verison, 10M is common and G-7S is iirc a razer special offer but same switch.

D2F-01F/-T, sorted for OF by Omron Japan (very same factory as D2FC but shipped to Japan for sorting)

There are other switches with higher reliability, but the double click issue you mention will happen some day with all of them (if the internal polling is not lousy).

Even if you have a 10M, as in 10 million clicks lifecycle, this is still without load, meaaing with no weight ... yeah right thats a little unlikely with a finger on top and actively pressing (overtravel) the switch...
It is possile to get D2FC-F-7N that "feel" better than a 10M and or D2F-01F, even if the lifecycle is shorter.

2.)
Brand and lifecycle alone dont make a good switch. tolerances for operation force and release force (OF, RF) as well as the mechanical design of the mouse and even the solder flow process for the PCBA impact the quality of the unit you get.

There is no "pro edition" D2F-01F or "standard" TTC white top. I wrote that to indicate which version of the kinzu had a specific microswitch.

Any D2FC-F-7N basically feels the same to be regardless of branding. I don't know what (MS) really means other than only being branded for Microsoft, but the (10m) indicates that the switches are rated for 10 million clicks opposed to the standard 3m and 5m variations. Apparently, Logitech was the first company with the 10m switch, although they sold it as 8m on their site/boxes for whatever reasons.

I personally like the D2FC-F-7N as it has linear feedback across mice, although I'd prefer it brands focused on the actual shell. (Can't stand some mice)

Only other Omron's I've tried are the D2F-01F/T, but I can't really tell the difference between the D2FC's. Again, shell design is a more important factor IMO.

To answer the question in as simplest terms as possible.

I prefer Omron's > other brands.

I think the main issue is that you probably dont buy 100 samples of some mouse to evaluate the tolerances of the switches ...

I can't tell what's bad or good when the actual shell design between mice change. All the Omron's I've tried have a similar feel.

I actually meant that as "branded" d2fc's, but If I was comparing an Intellmouse with some "good" d2fc's opposed to a Logitech 518 with some average ones, there's a good chance I'd still prefer the 518 due to it's shell construction.

You're right, but Omrons feel like Omrons even with compared to TTC and Huano.

Right click in Imperator's brother has tendency to double click and sometimes does not answer on the screen while the left click works fine when it's main use I click the impression that the manufacturer shall make every effort to ensure that their product is very fragile and can not last more than a year.

It must do this in the hope that buyers often racètent their products of very poor quality that cost far too expensive compared to the poor quality of manufacture.

The switches of my Logitech RX250 always work correctly even I feel a slight noticeable wear in touch but I find them much less cheap feeling as the Imperator and much less hard to press.

Well I have no time to finish my message I have to go to bed so basically the switch for my RX250 are better and stronger.

I also speak tomorrow switches in my Microsoft Comfort 4000 are much better than those of the Im

I wouldn't really call the switches in your other mice "better", although it's likely that you happen to prefer the shell and switch combination of the RX250 and Comfort 4000.

It's unfortunate that the switch in your Imperator has failed, but be reminded that it can happen with any mouse at any given time. The D2FC's are known to hold up for awhile and I really doubt mouse manufactures would continue to use them and pay the premium if they were worse

PS: Considering you've only had the mouse for less than a year, why not RMA?

thanks a lot 4 ur info bro... I was checking this and I was gonna pay xtra $$$ for the so called "made in Japan" switches.... Omron is now tricky... they call a Chinese switch made in japan

actually shell designs can change the feel of hitting the buttons... and I think they may change the button of the switch a little bit 2 fit the shell of the mouse too.

I would recommend the Omron D2FC-F-7N - reliability is not everything.

Even though there are several models featuring extra good reliability with 20M life cycle I prefer the D2F.

What good is a 20M switch if I dont like the click feeling or find the sound annoying?

I meant more TTC as brand - afaik Razer was the first gaming brand relying heavily on TTC encoders and switches for extra buttons.
The main buttons are in Razer so far always D2FC.

I have to say also that razer always cheap out on thier mechnical encoders, steelseries had some ALPS over the years and if not ALPS they use some very nice cheanise based which have very simmilar quality and feeling to ALPS... I have to rep them on it, SteelSeries really do a great job on the build and the feeling of thier products, not all of them though, but you know...
