Assassin's creed 1 freeze all the time when killing ennemies

So, i just got Assassin's creed for the first time, from steam.

Big problem though, EACH time i kill an ennemi, the game freeze for a good 15 sec, i cant move my character, i don't see the death animation, the screen stay still, and i cant hit any keyboard or mouse keys, but i still hear the backgroud music. Then, after 15 sec, to game goes back to normal and i can move the character around.

Anyone have seen this before ? I dont know what to do. I don't have any problems with any other of my games, and im sure my PC is running just fine.

did you try doing a reinstall of the game, it sounds like a buggy file

Run a integrity check, but sounds more like a GPU driver issue, so try reinstalling drivers.

I tryed to reinstall drivers, ran integrity test, and reinstall the game. Nothing worked. Same problem happens

20$ to the trash, game is unplayable.

Are you doing anything to try and get that game to run at 120hz? Pretty sure the engine has a hard frame cap on it.

thats AC1 game play! (j/k) wow that sucks, I've got a friend that play that on a athlon X2 4800 an HD5670 with out much problems

perhaps try lowering the quality? I know if your running it on your sig rig thats almost akin to blasphemy, but just try it some times older games struggle being allowed to run freely after being caged for so long

Same problem. This fixes it!

What it is, is the game is trying to connect to Ubisoft's servers, and waits for timeout. This tricks it, removing that connection.
