Hi

Using wintertime I'm going to take my Phenom II X4 965 C3 BE up to 5ghz. Outside temp now is -10 but it should drop to -15.
Parts used
Cpu: Phenom II X4 965 C3 Be (1.5V 4.4ghz stable)
Motherboard: Asus Crosshair IV Formula
Memory: G.Skill RipjawsX 1600mhz 8-8-8-24
Gpu: Asus Radeon Hd 5450 Silent 1gb DDR3 (daily i use 6990)
Psu: Cooler Master 850W
Cooling: Custom WaterLoop:
-Mnp Poseidon
-Thermaltake P500 Pump
-Feser 10/13 Uv tubing
-EkWb Ekolant Clear

I'm thinking of using distiled water mixed with car antifrozer (borygo).I really don't want to use salt cause it''s my modified daily waterloop.

I don't have good quality camera (7 years old canon camera).I can record it using psp camera or my mobile phone(maybe logitech webcam).I will use 1.6-1.65 vcore (depends what will give me time to do a validation). Also I will do some benchmarks (I'm in Multithreaded Mayhem Competition so wprime 32/1024 + vantage but also cinebench).

Anything will do for the camera

it makes it more interesting

And you may be leaning towards 1.7-1.75V for 5GHz btw, depending on how low you can get the temp, the lower the better

I have seen someone with 5ghz at 1.6V (on X6 1090T using only 4 cores).I never clocked that cpu that far(1.5V 4.5ghz for wpime 32M) so i don't know what vcore should do it. Another problem is the temperature.I have a lot of snow outside (so i can use it to cool the rad) and temp drops to -15 (230V fan should drop Rad temp to even -20).What core temperature can handle 1.7V ? (without burning cpu cause i want to use it for next 2 years).

I won't burn it out, I accidentlly put 2.0V through my 1055T for a few seconds, and still overclocks like a beast

Just dont use it for more than a hour or so

you should be safe

I will be using K10stat for overclocking and rog connect for overvolting. Finally time to use extreme OV

.Also going to overclock nb for benching to about 3ghz..

Anything is seated on testplate.Should i use ekoolant and test it today or go to shop, buy antifrozer with distiled water and test it tommorow (it's 20:50 here in poland).

Phenom II is great overclocker. Especially the c3's from 2009/2010. You don't need L helium to achive 5ghz just strongly Chilled water.

To whoever said 1.7-1.75v, I wouldn't do that. That's for Dry Ice and LN2 runs, I don't think want to push that much through when you only have -5c or so, and it will quickly overwhelm your temps and put you back into positives where your CPU will be at risk of severe degradation.

Most clock scaling for PhenomII comes from temperatures, so you'll find you need a balance between volts and temps while keeping your temperatures as low as possible. I wouldn't go further than 1.65v personally, and if you're going to bench wprime as well then stick well under that as your little water setup isn't going to hold much load and the cpu will overwhelm it quickly.

I have 2 120mm rads. Should i add them to loop to decrease temperature ?

The mouse didn't work ( it think i will use old PS/2 one). Also I didn't even overclocked this cpu(booted on 4.1ghz at 1.38V). I was waiting for temps close to 0C(temps went over 50C instead).
