Hi,
My Gigabyte F2A85XM-D3H (Socket FM2) board is occasionally recovering using the dual bios from corruption after a cold power down. Also the computer wont start sometimes after an initial power light from the case comes on, the only way to kick start the machine is to cold boot but only if the mains has been turned off and on again first (discharging for 10 secs or turning off the psu hardly works). Also quite often the system wont boot after post it struggles to see any menu (i run GRUB for dual boot and have tried all UEFI and EFI settings known to man). Some times it boots to the menu i can use the machine fine, even a sleep works but a shutdown almost always kills it. Furthermore its started to fail occasionally after a wall socket off and on again as it trys to auto start (as if awaking from sleep ?) and dies again. The PSU i have is total garbage i know this, and it makes a loud crack noise out of the back when turning it on.. it is a corsair builder 400w and cost $37
its all i had around at the time. Do you think its the PSU being stupid or the motherboard not helping the stupid PSU? perhaps the EFI boot and cold start / shutdown problem are two separate things.. i have noticed that a USB 2.0 boots always works but a USB 3.0 Boot doesnt always.
finally i flashed the bios to the latest firmware and that makes it corrupt more (perhaps placebo)
edit* i have repasted and totally rebuilt the machine and its still the same.
