Hi,

I own a A4Tech XL740K Oscar (as further as I have read it supposes to be for ¨"palm grip" and it is a big mouse and I have small hands)

After many research about differents grip style I can´t even identify to myself. Here I show some images about my grip style:

As you can see in the pics I just hold my wrist in table all the time while playing and my elbow rest in the armrest of my office chair, so I dont move the arm while playing. I use to play with 1500-2000 dpi in FPS shooters.

Soon I´d like to change my mouse so I appreciate if you recommend me a good one adaptable to my grip style like shown in pics (the price doesn´t matter)

Sorry for my english, Thanks you so much

Not an expert but our grips are similar. So well, a claw grip with streched fingers, making it simply semi-palm + descriptive. We could now start naming the hybrids, yours something like "semi-palm LE" (=lower end, referring to the part of the palm), would like that.

Your grip means that you're more flexible in choosing mice, they don't have to be or shouldn't be as bulky as a G400, they can be flatter like the Steelseries Sensei and even the Zowie FK. A traditional Claw grip also works with small mice, would you use such, your fingers would extend. Coming from your mouse to a Zowie FK, i don't know, the FK is very narrow, otherwise i would maybe suggest that. Coming to a Sensei might not be the best. If you used your mouse for very long time you got accustomed to consistent flat tracking which the Sensei doesn't have, of course maybe you would be fine anyway, it's still precise, depends on your playstyle i guess. Both the Sensei and FK have flat fronts, again, theres a worry about your ring finger placement. Be ready to return any mouse you get.

I'd say maybe the TT esports Saphira. It's fairly tolerant to your kind of grip, similar sensor behaviour, tall front, smaller and lighter than your A4Tech. Qualtiy though might not be the best. Else, you could try the Sensei, normal edition, it has better buttons than the RAW edition, and maybe somone can say something about its general build quality compared to the RAW.

Thanks you so much for ur answers. Well about Razer Deathhader I thnk there is a contradiction:

In Razer website it says it´s a claw grip mouse:

However inn this website it seems to be the number 1 of Palm Grip ranking

Common misconception (albeit a very unimportant one because seriously who cares?
wink.gif
): Just because your fingers are moreless arched doesn't make them claw a mouse.
When your palm's heel/pit do not touch your mouse it's a fingertip grip because it results in 5 contact points. I'd say you fingertip the mouse. Also you said you never move your arm/elbow, which would be impossible for vertical movements with palm or claw grip.

About that contradiction: Their whole website is inconsistent across sections, resulting in some contradictions. The DA is an ergonomically shaped mouse, which "traditionally" means it's designed to be palmed. Doesn't mean though that it can't be clawed or fingertipped for that matter. You can claw and fingertip any mouse, however palming any mouse (comfortably) isn't possible because it's so dependent on shapes, and sizes of different hands, which lead to ergonomic molds. In the days of yore all mice were ambidextrous.

Your answer has conviced me phl0w. It looks like finger grip. Maybe I hold the mouse like this because that mouse (a4tech XL 740bk) is a big mouse (people says its big mouse but I cant say my opinion because this has been my 1st gaming mouse) and I have small hands. What mouse would you recommend me to buy for this grip? Maybe could you suggest me some Logitech and Razer?

Well it's hard to recommend a mouse without being biased. I also fingertip mice for desktop and some games. For FPS though I kinda claw mice.
My medium sized (small for western, large for Asian standards) hands just really fall into place with Logitech's MX/G shape (mx300,g1,g3,g100,g100s) derived from their legendary pilot wheel ball mouse. They practically kept shape and weight for years making it easy to transfer from one iteration to the next.
I also like the Abyssus' shape for fingertip and claw, find the overall design way to light though and don't really like the switches.
The FK can work for fingertip, is a bit too long though seeing you pull your mouse quite close to your palm's heel.
Right now I use the G100s and like it very much. Not as much as the MX300 but it's better in some areas (built and surface grip, 500hz default) while worse in others (perfect control speed, wheel in shell).
That said, I'd read up on what Starcraft players use these days on the team liquid boards. They usually fingertip/loosely claw mice thus know the best ones inside out. Usually though they use mx/g shaped or g9x.

That looks like the definition of fingertip grip IMO. Dunno why people are so prone to classify everything as claw grip, arching fingers a bit is only natural for every grip type.

I hope you're not using the mouse that high, though.

E: I think a mouse with as-low-as-possible profile would be ideal for fingertipping so that it doesn't distort your hand's natural position. For some reason there are no such gaming mice on the market, but Kinzu v2 is pretty close in shape, even though it's ******ed

Another mouse to consider might be the Corsair Vengeance M65?

My grip is pretty much identical to yours, and that's the mouse I'd be considering to buy next, after this one finally gives up the ghost.

As for Razer, this is just personal experience, but I'd steer clear.
I've had 3 of their mice, 2 naga's and an abyssus, and they've all started developing problems after the first few months of use.
Their build quality just isn't what it's meant to be, in my experience.

That said, out of those 3 you mentioned I'd probably go with the logitech.

Shuprimo, why dont you try playing an fps game and then an rpg game.
Then you will find out which grip your hand will be more comfortable in.

For fps or fast paced games, I have to do a claw grip for the faster response and accuracy.
But its exhausting to use a claw grip if you will be playing a slow-paced rpg for many hours, like skyrim or fallout.
So for RPG, I use palm grip.

I grip mouse always in the same way (as showed in pics above). I use to play FPS mostly with 1200-1600 DPI in mouse. I think my palm never never rest in mouse (it´s not comfortable for me). So I have to be claw or finger user. I dont arche much my fingers so I think Im finger like hpl0w mentioned before. Or maybe a little of claw? I dont know if claw grip involves to need to arche fingers so much

Thanks for all the answers

I grip the same way dude. i use tip of palm/wrist and my fingers to guide the mouse. i've been using the same Logitech MX518 for years. Although i'd like to get the version that doesn't look like it was stabbed 18 times.

My wrist is all the time held in mousepad and my elbow in the restarm all the time too (It´s very comfortable play on this way) So my movements of hand are very shorts. I play with 1600 dpi mostly in FPS

Maybe you cant appreciate this on pics but my palm doesnt rest in mouse so I dont use palm style (althought this mouse is supposed to be palm grip)
