Hey, guys

Got me a bit confused whether to uninstall that Physx by Nvidia, read a bit about the actual function, so I do understand the concept.

Was explained I do not need it, as AMD GPU is NOT utilizing it, but if I have Physx still installed on the system it will be "TAXING" my CPU instead of utilizing Nvidia's Chipset, that is no longer there.

I have Nvidia built into the motherboard, so I don't know if it makes a difference since I'm using AMD Radeon 7950 plugged into PCI-e which essentially disables anything onboard.

So the question is this: Should I uninstall Physx to improve performance, as some forums state there is a frame drop when using Physx drivers on NON-Nvidia GPU?

and 2nd question: Would my graphics quality be impacted negatively if I get rid of Nvidia Physx.

Also there is a Nvidia hd audio driver that I'm hesitant of uninstalling, but I use VIA HD audio as it's correct driver for my onboard audio card.

If anyone can clarify that for me please

1st of all, most (many) games don't use physx at all and those that do, you can play and it will use the cpu. However if it makes u loose too many frames and the physx does you no good you can probably disable it in the game options (or in nvidias).

Visually, the difference is very small as the other effects (anti aliasing and tesselation) impact the visuals more

Hope this helps

I don't know, that's the question.

Does it effect frame rate or not, I'm not sure.

I didn't understand the last part, are you saying uninstalling Physx will decrease visual performance?

For an example I'm playing Bioshock Infinite right, which has a Physx logo when I start the game and see the credits, does it mean I need it?

Or is it just a brand that Nvidia is pushing. Like when Crysis 2 start and they whisper "NVIDIA" ...lol...which is straight marketing there.

Bottom line I'm trying to improve the performance to the max, so I need to understand whether Physx is even compatible with what I'm doing, if it's a redundant software that is actually hogging the resources for NO REASON I will uninstall.

I heard that before that's honestly why I made that thread.

I guess I can always reinstall if needed or I'm sure the game will come with that software.

Thanks
