Basically what the title says. Its an asrock mini itx motherboard for a 2500k, all of the ports work actually, just when i boot up I find mysekf 9 times out of 10 having to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in to get it to work.
Any idea what could be causing this/how to fix it? The mouse works fine when its booted up so idk? (the keyboard is a filco majestouch 2 tkl if that matters which i doubt)

thanks in advanced

wierd, i have the same keyboard and i do not have any problems with it. i also used a z77e-itx before i moved into another itx case that is using windows 8/8.1 as its OS.

have you tried using PS2 port on the z77e-itx? your filco keyboard comes with an usb to ps2 adapter.

anyways try checking this one in windows. im not entirely sure though but its worth a try:

Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings on whatever you are using > Change Advanced Power Settings > then look for "USB settings"

once youre in there, double check if USB Selective Suspend is set to "Enabled". If it is disabled, try to Enable it and reboot.

Download newest Bios above, flash it with USB drive. Takes about 3 mins. Flash option is in Bios.

Then, download USB drivers and install:

Then go to device manager, uninstall your keyboard manually. Right click on device, uninstall.

Then plug it back in.

See if that works. I had this problem and this did the trick with my keyboard.
