My son looked at porn on my computer but did not close the browser which was in private session. I went to work opened my computer and voila porn site on my screen at work. I immediately closed the browser, but my computer had already logged in to the work network. Did the router record the site that was open on my computer. I didn't refresh it...I closed it immediately.

Yes, work firewall already detected.

...wait, you son was looking from the home computer and you remote into your work system? If so, then that would not be detected.

If you were on the work network and he looked while on that network, then you might be in trouble...

I would assume the firewall at your work would be running some kind of content filter or web security gateway. If the site wasn't blocked when you connected to your work network then it probably didn't send the request out or it would of been blocked and recorded. Really depends on the monitoring of your work network.

Difficult to say for sure. On opening an ad-network could of connected from that site, or some other dynamic content refreshed in the background. However I wouldn't worry about it too much. If its just a one-off, then there won't be any history leading up to the point, so you could just say it was a pop-up or something.

Well hopefully they don't notice or have any reports pop up. I don't think they monitor it but who knows. What kind of code would pop up for them the web address or just code? I am pretty illiterate when it come to this stuff.

Do I have any plausible deniability? It isn't in my history, and I own the computer so they don't have any claim on checking my computer. Should I worry?

He looked at it on the home network. I went to work, got out my computer and opened the laptop and bam there it was on my screen. I closed the browser.

Site was searched and browsed at home, but not searched at work just sitting there open.

I guess I will just have to wait it out.

You are golden. Didn't pass through your works network.

You're fine in that case.

...but keep your work computer and home computer separate...
