I dono, I feel that the movie industry has learned that with a pre-existing brand, investing the extra $$$ yields them more $$$. You look at older movies based on comic books vs the newer ones and see a completely different level of quality. I see blizzard as one to cater to the masses, but I do believe they take their time to produce something of quality. I hate the direction they took with WoW and a bunch of stuff with D3, but thats an opinion on the mechanics where my opinion was not the majority. Blizzard knows even if they break even on the movie, it will yield them more money on the game, and if the movie was good, they can keep pushing out more allowing them to sustain more subscribers. If they do a bad job, then no more movies, and hurts the brand of course. It wont take away from the subscriber counts, it will add some before the movie comes out, but will have a hard time sustaining those people.

I trust blizzard to know how to create a story, especially over WoW. Diablo could have some religious problems, but WoW they should be safe to build a solid story over the HUGE amount of lore they have. They have tons of work with special effects and cinematography. I will be surprised if it turns out bad.

I really feel like they should change the title if they want to make more money. There are a TON of people who would scratch this movie off their list just because of that aspect alone, no matter how intriguing the trailer/reviews are. The people who are between 35-45 years old who have never liked video games or comics yet they have seen every marvel movie to date. The people who preach to their teenagers about how video games are a waste of time. These people represent a huge chunk of movie-goers, and I feel like they would have nothing to lose if they chose a title relevant to WoW but also not a dealbreaker for "simple" folks.

The brand of Warcraft is what's driving the movie, not the other way around.

That's too bad if you haven't see anything with Ben Foster in it, he's had some pretty decent roles. Clancy Brown has been in a million freaking movies and seems to do voice work in every other animated anything...

Other than those two, I can't place any of the others...

Good Blizzard, now where is my Heaven's Devils movie with Jimmy & Tychus
