I love my SP's but I really like the looks of the BF's. They that much louder?

I feel kind of special now haha

What do you guys think about the Black Ice 560 GTS? I kept on contemplating about putting a second RX480 in my loop, but since the SMA8 can fit a 560, I said why not. However, the 560 can only be around 30mm thick. This is due to the restrictions of how I want to have my GPU blocks lead the tubing right underneath. Since EK hasn't released the 140 fans, I might use corsair AF140's or SP140 leds.
Because I haven't seen a build with the 560 yet I vote YES!

So I may be making changes to the WC parts. Because I just finished my other build, I'm going to try and save as much money as I can. Instead of purchasing all brand new pumps and such, I'm going to stick with my XSPC D5 Photon 170 vario pump/res. I was originally going to go with two EK-XRES 140 PWM and add the 250 tube, but that was almost $400 just in pumps.

For now, I'm going to be using the XSPC pump/res and I recently saw someone use the Bitspower D5cover mod to it. I may do that. Then later I will purchase a second XSPC pump/combo for dual pumps in a single loop. I want something "different" and everyone almost used the EK-XRES pumps/res.

As for radiators, I will be going with the ones I listed in my OP. RX480 and 560GTS.

So here's an update:

Pumps: XSPC D5 170 pump/res (maybe 2) with Bitspower D5 mod
Rads: RX480 and 560GTS (RX360 and RX240)

I can't compare how sounds are with 15+ Bitfenix and the 5 Sp120's I have in the 750D at the moment. I just know that at night when everything is off I can hear them. (Bitfenix Spectre Pro 120mm)

I just purchased my last two radiators. I still need to order the 560 radiator bracket though. I won't be purchasing anything else until I get the SMA8. I need to work some more to get the money back I just spent. Like I said, I'll be reusing my XSPC photon D5 pump, and when I get the case, I may get a second, along with the pass throughs and extra fittings and Bitspower D5 mod kits. I believe I'll be using Mayhems Pastel Ice white as well

Love your gunmetal/black color choice. Can't wait to see it. Subbed for sure.

Thanks. It better be worth the extra $45

haha

I don't think I've seen any colored like that, so I want mine to look different than all these that are just gunmetal, black or white. I asked them to do the front flexbays in black, so it kind of stands out from the gunmetal exterior.

Okay, so I lied about purchasing more parts. My plan was to originally keep the Photon 170 D5 vario pump/res, but a friend of mine was interested. I'm selling it to him, so I thought I would get the bigger 270 version but instead with PWM control. I went PWM because I believe there would be less than 15mm total with the 270 mounted, which wouldnt give any room to turn the vario switch between speeds. Also purchased a bitspower D5 mod kit/cover for the pump, as well as the pass thrus.

For now, I'll be using one pump. When I get my build complete and it's not enough, I'll add a second in serial. So for now, no more purchasing parts haha

Main reason for getting the Photon 270 is because it's unique in the SMA8. Almost all cases I see are filled with EK combos or res' (I love EK, but everyone's SMA8 almost look alike). I would honestly feel like I had copied Jayztwocent. Plus, the photon series is something in used to. I just love the looks as well, and the bitspower mod kit makes it love absolutely lovely

Okay, I lied again. I saw that TigerDirect had a $10 off discount for anything over $100, so I picked up the EVGA 1300 G2. There's also a $40 MIR, so I really got it for $159.99. I sure hope this will be the right decision over my AX860. I just also hope that it fits alongside my RX360.

I have three power supplies from EVGA and they are amazing. You should have no issues with it. I have two 850 G2s and a 1000 P2 all running great, and quiet as well.

Found out that newegg had it for $15 cheaper so I called TD to see if they could price match it. They said they couldn't because it offered a MIR. They eventually gave me a $10 gift card. I also had the $10 discount, so it dropped me to $149.99 after MIR and the GC

I'm not that "techy" about PSU's and their efficiency, so I hope I'm making the right choice. My current AX860 always restarts, but it's also Platinum rating over the 1300 gold rating. I hope it doesn't raise power bill. Can anyone verify on that?

I sure hope so. But honestly, it doesn't really matter because I'm a college student and with work, I'll barely be playing games. But for $149.99, that's such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. Now I just need to get rid of my AX860.

Yeah if you do the actual math on power consumption, you're talking a few dollars a year in most cases... unless you start running phase or folding.

Look forward to the build

Can't wait to see your case.. color scheme is awesome. I just grabbed one off ebay.. I'm too impatient. They're seriously worth every single penny.

Going from a 860w psu to a 1300w psu won't raise you electric bill at all. The only way the bill will go up is if the hardware hooked up to the psu starts pulling more power from the wall. You are just giving the system more power in reserve to be able to pull if the system needs it. It may actually run a little less on your bill since you won't be running the new psu at it's max and it will run more efficient that the other one.

I have a 1500 UPS that shows me the amount of power I'm drawing from the wall and that's pretty nice because you can see the difference when you overclock your cpu higher, or run your gpu's higher, or the difference from playing a game, running benchmark, folding, encoding, or whatnot. Those are nice and handy at the same time. Also gives your psu a cleaner power delivery than just plugging it into the wall.

I hook up my PC, Monitor, Modem, and Router all to the battery side of the UPS. That lets me still run my system for about 20-30min depending on what I'm doing on the pc if the power goes out. Nice thing about having the modem and router on that is so your internet connection stays up and running and you don't have to reset anything.

Yeah, that's the worst part of getting a CasLabs is having to wait, but it's worth it in the end. You'll be happy you did. You also seemed to make a nice choice with what you ordered. I think you will love that case and it will be a great setup for doing one sick build that's for sure
