I haven't seen news about this, even Googled it but nothing really shows up except Newegg and I searched OCN but nothing came up either. I apologize if it does. It seems to be from a new Chinese or Taiwanese company. I just found them randomly right now while scanning through Newegg and they're apparently a new product. I just wanted to post them because I think the holding bracket is such a cool design and unique. I think this fan could give some modders an interesting way to mount the fans.

Interesting. Unique. They look the exact opposite of anything steampunk. Was expecting some copper.

I was thinking more along the lines that they'd be a better looking exhaust fan aesthetics wise, especially with the section cut out to expose it further. Almost all fans look good from the front anyway, know what I mean? This I think is a major unique feature rear wise.

Example vs each other

The only other fan I know of that has a unique rear bracket while still nice is from Arctic Cooling but it's a smaller fan.

I agree that they would look quite good as an exhaust fan. Although without a shroud I am just weary of how they can "channel" the air very well.

if you look at the pics on newegg it does come with a removable shroud. I like the concept and design but the price is high at $26 per fan + 6 shipping

Hmm, steampunk? Was ninja or shuriken already taken?

"1stPlayer's design team has given us the worst performing fan we've tested by an inconceivable margin."

I don't know how a website can review so many fans and do so little research into fan design. Just by looking at this fan I knew it would perform like garbage simply because it lacks the shroud around the circumference of the fan, introducing huge pressure losses and killing blade efficiency. The fact that it turned out to be the worst performing fan by a large margin was to be expected.

If they cut off the sides of any other fan they'd see the same drop in performance. Anyone buying this fan should be absolutely aware that this fan was completely designed for aesthetics over function.

Taken directly from their product page for these fans, "Distinctive Structure like Steam machine, special like PUNK, STEAMPUNK is intended..."

I think they tried to create their own word without realizing that steampunk is already a word and has absolutely nothing to do with these fans. It just baffles me sometimes how companies can be this out-of-touch.
