Hell in order to have FC4 boot on a dual-core system (granted, anyone gaming on a PC likely has a quad-core processor at least) would have to apply a patch that's easier to do with a cracked version of the game. Don't get me started on NFS: Rivals. I shouldn't have to pirate a game to get a legit, offline single-player experience. If Microsoft seriously wants to try & block pirated games from running on Windows 10, LOL GOOD LUCK!

On top of that some of the ToS sounds exactly like the ToS you agree to when using their console. They'll ban the living mess out of any JTag/modded 360 consoles for obvious reasons, and I'm not even talking about the painfully obvious reason of stealing content using a product you don't even own in any way, shape, or form. Don't believe me? Read that ToS again. You don't own ANYTHING. Not the hardware you bought, the games you bought, the software you're paying to have access to, the service you pay to have access to, the account your service is on. YOU. OWN. NOTHING.

Really does sound like Microsoft is trying to close down Windows to be more like MAC OS X, which if true, is a HORRIBLE idea.
Again, this ToS doesn't apply to Windows. The author of this article is trying to make the leap that it applies to Windows because this ToS is for Microsoft services (like Skype, Xbox Live, Store, etc) and many people will sign into Microsoft services on Windows.

To demonstrate how absurd it is, it's like saying Valve's Steam's ToS applies to Windows and the hardware you use Steam on. That you can be banned from using your Windows installation for violating Valve's ToS.

Know a few people who got in trouble updating WoW and such because of that
My university warned me about pirating while I was updating LoL over the school's network. Some ISPs just automatically flag any kind of P2P traffic.

Unfortunately, it would seem a lot of people here have reading comprehension failure and failed to read your post. Which is a shame. Because this thread is incredibly misleading if actual truth isn't read.

Ironically, it is the same people in this thread circlejerking it again. $30 this thread is gonna get locked too.

I'm not a betting man myself but I'm inclined to agree.
OT: This is why I don't use Microsoft's services. Or cloud services for that matter.

I want to switch to Linux but... there is just not enough support therefore it lacks applications and games, and for what little there is... it lacks support.

Probably has to do with Xbox One peripherals. Like controllers with aimbots and rapid fire, for example.
Crossplay with controller, console players report Keyboard+Mouse user are hackers! Reported as unauthorized hardware! Good lord~!

I'm telling you what, the bickering is hilarious. Honestly, there are a lot of intrusive ToS's and what not out there. How about we sit back and lets see what happens rather than jumping on the... "Hey this sounds juicy, lets not think of all the good reasons for this, just the bad" bandwagon. While, I think every operating system has it's own set of perks... It's own style if you will, MS is going to do whatever the hell they want, even all of you who hold onto windows 7 like it's your "precious". All it takes is some type of update/patch upgrade to any OS to support something like this. Meanwhile, until it actually gives harm to someone, lets not circle jerk this into oblivion. Volcano's out of mole hills.

Yeah, I was just kinda raging for a minute. I've been talking to a lot of co-workers about windows 10, if they were upping and what not, and literally 90 percent of them said, is it like Windows 8, I hated windows 8. I my response after the first 3, became, wait what didn't you like about windows 8... All of them pretty much stated the Metro UI. Which I just retorted, you mean, you're using a bloated OS (7) over 8 because you can't install a Classic shell to make it more comfortable.... So you're sacrificing some novelty and faster boot - and well in general performance over ... tiles? It's like... SMMFH.... eh, I'm sure this is going to mess with someone tonight, but I digress, i'm just ranting after work.

To be fair this is why i resisted going to 8 until 8.1... But I do like 8.1 with Classic Shell installed. If I remember right several things I used didnt play nicely with 8 either.. including my sound card (even when i got 8.1 the sound card did NOT have drivers iirc, and the Win 7 drivers crashed/had issues constantly..)

As for 10, i do like it so far, i had a few problems with drivers for my sound on my laptop (which resulted in only the built in speakers being usable..) but after a few hours of messing around i got them working...

In other news, i dont think i will ever buy another creative labs sound card..

Man, haha.. Thats incredibly funny, so I have one of the titanium, champion... whatever ect ect ect pci-e card. Also after upgrading no sound, I didn't think much about it because I was about to factory reset for a clean install. Hell, after the clean install, not only do they work, I feel like the sound quality is actually better with what windows installed for them. It also realizes it's a creative *** ect.. Hell, SB don't even have drivers released yet for their platform.

The issue on the Laptop is that its up to Dell to release drivers and basically they're saying my laptop isnt "Win 10 certified" even though the chip is a Sound Blaster Recon 3d...

It's because it's the mobile version of the chip and yeah, up to Dell.
Which reminds me why I am not a huge fan of vendor systems

But with laptops its not like you have a huge choice in DIY options...

Yeesh I remember not being able to clean install Windows on my Compaq K6-200 because there were NO modem drivers. Had to use the "restore" CD which just dumped tons of bloat back on the system..
