I'll give my perspective on Wednesday, but the specs make it seem like a great deal to me.

I ordered the same AOC U2879VF monitor from Tiger Direct.ca on a price match for $499.99 Canadian which works out to $330 US and I think it is a great deal. It actually has the same specs as this:

Which is the Samsung U28E590D 28in FreeSync monitor for $599.99 US (note the .com, It was not available at .ca) and according to Linus tech tips the Samsung model U28D590D doesn't have FreeSync and I could not find anywhere that stated it did.

Mine will be delivered tomorrow.
Mine was a day late, got it yesterday afternoon. My first impression was it was very bright, after tinkering with some of the OSD settings, I left everything at default except for shadow control. I bumped that down a notch and it was perfect.
Yeah, its an IMC profile and a small driver, but not what we're looking for.
I could not find this documented anywhere on the internetOriginally Posted by sk2play
AOC (FL) inverter boards burn out faster than most on many models, thus my only caution on this deal. Hopefully, the inverter board is not integrated into the mainboard of this model LCD. The inverter board is what regulates the AC power to DC power to the LCD thus takes a lot of heat. The quality of the inverter board matters.
Hi Wade
I have sent your request to the R&D team and once I have the answer from them, I shall forward it to you.
Alternatively we can send a CD to you if that is more convenient for you
Most of the manuals can be downloaded from the Website. Have you tried downloading from the AOC website ?
In the meantime, are you able to supply me the following information for registration in our warranty database please?
Address
Model Name
Serial no
Date of purchase
Once we receive the above, we shall be able to register you in our database for future warranty reference ( if any).
Feel free to contact us if you have any further queries.
Kind Regards,
Ode

No doubt about it not being 'documented' as the Reviews don't go into this hardware detail. A FL inverter for a LCD is NOT a Brick Power Supply. For instance, Laptops use a Brick Power Supply which in turn gives power to a FL inverter board to control the power to the LCD screen. You're confusing the flow of technology as it has been used for many years.
