Part of the problem I have with gaming today is my time is less valuable now than it was 10 or so years ago in terms of the purchasing power I receive per hour of time I spend working. Due to this, I want to walk away from a game with a great experience now more than ever before because. If there's even a hint of doubt that the game will be worth my time then I simply won't invest that money or time because what I stand to lose are both so important to me.
Yeah, looking at the response to this trailer is very odd. I see loads of comments like "I was worried about the MOBA elements before, but this looks great!". So what exactly were these people expecting? The trailer shows a Quake like game with MOBA elements, so exactly nothing has changed, yet now they like it?
Problem is not many are playing UTOriginally Posted by TFL Replica
Quake fans never asked for "champions" with absurd special abilities like wallhacks, teleporting, and bull rushing. Unreal Tournament 2016 seems to be heading in the direction that fans want. People that like Overwatch are going to continue to enjoy Overwatch. This is going to flop harder than Battleborn. A shame really, because they could easily have made this GOTY material.
Yes.
Quake 2 was amazing! Not sure how old you are but that game was awesome back in the day.Originally Posted by ILoveHighDPI

I think Quake 2 was the low point of the series. That rocket launcher just felt weird, like it was just shooting flares.
Those first few levels were decent, I played the demo a ton, but like a lot of games back then the demo was the best the game had to offer.
And then Unreal came out with actual colors and Half Life gave us storytelling, Quake was obsolete.
It's kind of funny that id, to this day, hasn't made a game with color. I like the Reds of DOOM, but it wouldn't hurt to try outdoing Crysis sometime. Jungles and Aliens aren't mutually exclusive.
