I'm looking to add some quick disconnect couplers to my loop in the next few months when I upgrade it. They seem like a really good idea and will be a great time/frustration saver when pieces break down or as I upgrade and swap pieces out.
I've been reviewing the available quick disconnects out there and the newer Koolance QD series seems to be considered at the top right now in terms of quality, performance and ease-of-use.
Looking at the reviews/performance charts of them the QD4 seems to be the way to go since among all of them it has the least restrictions because it's the largest.
Price is not really a concern however naturally space is. I believe I should be able to fit in QD4s but I wanted to get some opinions on if I need to use the QD4s at all and couldn't get away with QD3s.
The terminology of a "pair" seems to be used rather ambiguously when people talk to them so for clarity I'll define what I mean by "pair" here: 1x female and 1x male piece.
All in all I hope to add 5-6 "pairs". I'll list the restriction causing pieces currently in the loop and the important parts to make it easier to imagine what more the QD3/4s will contribute to the system:
-2x radiators
-CPU block
-2x GPU blocks
-MCP50X pump
- ~7' of tubing
So should I be looking at going for QD4s or will the QD3s not put that much extra restriction on my loop?
