so recently i upgraded from an ax860i to an ax1200i , but someone also told me that the old ax1200 non i has better OEMs as compared to the newer ax1200i, is it true ?

Everything I can find looks like it's the same internals for the most part, and both are excellent quality. Did your friend have any proof at all to back this up? I'm just not seeing anything remotely insinuating his claim.

AX1200 - is made by Seasonic - great manufacturer
AX1200i - is made by Flextronics - they are a server-grade manufacturer, they seem really good, could be great also, but i don't know that much about them.

Some people prefer the older AX1200, but i also heard great things about the AX1200i.

this is exactly what i heard that ax1200 has OEMs made by seasonic which are better than the flextronics which are present in ax1200i , but the ax1200i is an excellent psu i just bought it a couple of days ago, i ran real bench the cpu benchmark and the unigene heaven the gpu benchmark both together the psu was running at 35C and the fan never turns on, it only turns on for a few seconds when i power my system

Thanks everyone, I was just wondering the other why Is psu self test light always green and on

I have an AX1200i. When it came out it was (if I am recalling correctly) the highest rated PSU by Jonny Guru. It is still one of the highest rated PSU's JG has tested. I think the AX1500i dethroned it and a couple others have been better as well. But not many.

As for Flextronics as a company, about as good as it gets. Every bit as good as Seasonic, if not a tad better. As stated by others they are mostly know for server hardware. PSU's built to run at heavy load 24/7 for years.

The digital capabilities are not the communications ability. That is just a bonus. The whole unit is digitally controlled internally rather than old analog designs. That is the very rough explanation. That is also why you can "create" rails in the Corsair software. They are digitally controlled virtual rails rather than hard wired ones.
