With everything on very low, 2560x1440, this is happening:

I'm getting 40-71 fps, but game feels completely unplayable to me. Stuttering everywhere.

Not overheating.

System in spects. HEEELLLLPPP.

My 3 year old laptop runs it better than my desktop does. There's got to be something wrong.

While it's higher usage than my Phenom X6 was getting (I suppose that's a given, but I've only just got my Mobo back from RMA, so haven't actually played PUBG on my 5820k yet), but if you haven't already, I'd like to suggest you try two things:

Firstly, nVidia Control Panel; Manage 3D Settings> Program Settings Tab. Locate or Add PUBG (Steam>Steamapps>Common>PUBG>TslGame>Binaries>Win64) and set Power Management Mode to "Prefer Maximum Performance". While you're there turn "Threaded Optimization" on, and see if that helps any.

Secondly, double-check and see how your CPU is behaving during those drops. Ensure it's not downclocking at all with HWInfo or something.

Otherwise, It's just a case of waiting for further patches. The game is early-access, so it's likely it'd still perform better on slightly older hardware than new stuff, you're not alone with the issues though, and I can only hope the suggestions alleviate it even a little.

Even so, I'll guarantee you're getting a smoother experience than I was with the Thuban.

I think I figured it out.

This may sound weird, but my GPU usage drops WHEN I MOVE MY MOUSE.

When i leave everything still my frames are like 80s. As soon as I start moving the mouse, frames drop.

CPU AND GPU usage both don't reach max... so I shouldn't be bottlenecked I think. I'm also running everything very low.

You won't see high CPU usage on all or even on many cores often with CPU limited games, they will be running one thread maxed and it can be hard to see or invisible with windows monitoring. Generally if GPU is not at full clock speeds and near 100% load then you're CPU limited.

When I had a 980ti, Was getting 110-120fps game settings maxed out 1440p, GPU usage 98-99%
Upgraded to 1080ti and now I get 110-144fps same maxed out settings and res. GPU usage 85-95%

CPU 5960X @ 4.5ghz.
The one time I forgot to put my CPU overclock back on after doing a bios update, Was only getting 50-70fps with core clock at 3.5ghz and gpu usage was around 40%.

My younger brother has that same mouse on a way lower powered system than yours and his gameplay is fluid. I see you have 3 screens. does it seem to chunk out as your turing side to side quickly?

I wish people would cut out the bs talk about trash game. I constantly see people with not so great systems getting more than fine fps. Absolute haters. I have a secondary system with a G4560 and only 8gb ram with a gtx 970 plays it flawless. So tired of people saying it sucks. Those are usually the people who arent good at it. I did however find that putting it on a ssd helped out a bunch. My brother who has a i3 6100 8 gb ram and a gtx 760 plays it fine without crazy lag after moving it to his ssd as well. He did go from windows 7 to a fresh install of windows 10 pro 64. Not sure of what drivers tho. Btw NY BIG UP!!!!

Maybe looking at wall but this game runs like crap. There's no way your getting 110-144fps with a 980Ti maxed out on this game @ 1440p. Granted they may have improved the performance I haven't played it in a couple of months but when I did it ran very bad.

Ya they're flat out lying. You don't gain 100% more frames with a 28% overclock. With everything on very low I can see it being possible to achieve that fps, but even then there's so many random fps drops. Performance has slowly gotten better, but it has a long way to go.

@NoodleGTS Do you have all the Windows 10 stuff disabled like the DVR feature? Have you tried any config edits? They force depth of field and some other features now which could be contributing to the lower fps. https://pubg.me/blog/post/competitive-pubg-config-guide

Monitor background tasks.

It sounds like a background software or driver issue if the perfromance tanks specifically when you move your mouse. I have the same cpu with an overclock, my 1070 ran the game really well. I don't think I've ever seen it drop below 60fps even in the red zone.

Looking into a redzone from a distance drops my FPS incredibly much, with a 2100mhz 1070. Otherwise running the game 60+fps all the time, 1440p. (7700k, but at this resolution, cpu barely matters.)

I've read on here from others that a 4.8ghz 4790k dropped down during redzones but their new 3.8ghz 1700 didn't get below 60fps either, and seen streaming tests where a 7700k slows down streaming and playing pubg but ryzen 8cores are close to non streaming performance. Might try and get links when I'm home from work later.

Could be related to their sound hardware.
