4K res with a GTX 1070 in a laptop package for gaming? lol

Good price, but I think a lot of people will be fairly disappointed in the performance having to run games with low detail with high heat/ fan noise to reach 60FPS. Seems like a waste for such a monitor in a laptop.

Am I being stupid?

Agreed the 4k is a little overkill. Can't a 1070 run that though? I have been out of the loop for a while so i'm not sure about that. 1440p would have been a nice compromise if not.

1440p it would work flawlessly with 60FPS at higher detail levels, but at 4K they recommend a 1080 at least to play mid-high graphics at 60FPS. A 1080TI can play very-high graphics at 60FPS.

If you down-scaled from 4K to 1440p on a 4K monitor, it would look fuzzy. So your essentially stuck at gaming on a 4K monitor with low quality graphics at 4K < 60FPS or fuzzy-looking games at 1440p with mid-high graphics > 60FPS.

There is really no win there in my opinion but if someone knows better than I about gaming at 4K with a GTX 1070, I'd like to know.

I believe you are correct from everything I've been looking up. I am going to bet that is also why its geared towards OC'ing. Still a great deal esp if one already has a 2k monitor.
