I'm now more interested in this monitor more than the X34P.

One of the best reviewed 11 by 9 monitors is actually the Alienware AW3418DW, they have similar specs (and most reviewers say the panel is actually made by LG). 120Hz+ is a sweet spot, and the overall functionality of the extra screen space outside of gaming is awesome. In game, even if the game doesn't allow for extra FOV, it still gives you a more immersive feeling with the screen wrapping around your vision.

I recommend looking for something with a 1500-2000R curve rating. Higher number indicates less curve which makes it less "likened to your eyes curve".
