The EVGA RTX 2060 XC Ultra MSRP is $380... so there is hope the strix will be $400.

Yeah after seeing that video I was optimistic, but then he seemed to run into a VRAM issue with RTX ON... well I just ordered an EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra for $550 (the 400A higher binned die - seems to be on sale for a few more days). Extra 2 GB or VRAM and extra GPU performance... I was tempted to get a RTX 2060... but I was going to get an OC'd one... probably costing $400... so why not fork out another $150 for an extra bump in performance and VRAM overhead.
The $350 2060 when overclocked has the same baseline performance as 2070. You paid too much for a 2070.Should have instead gone for a used 1080Ti.

A lot of people need to ask themselves if "HD texture packs" are worth it to install in modern titles. I would surmise that most MODERN HD texture packs are meant for 4K monitors. Back in "the day" with the limited memory of the PS360 era, HD texture packs were needed for 1080p. The DX11/ texture pack for Crysis 2 is a good example of it being needed. Now that level of quality was default on Crysis 3. Then you have to look at the specific game and see if the "ultra" textures are even more detailed than "high" or "medium" textures. For all you know, unless you test it out, is that "ultra" just uses less compressed version of the "high" or "medium" setting.
Dude, the texture and DX11 pack for Crysis 2 was legit!!! I remember running that game for the first time after those packs dropped and my jaw hitting the floor! Think I was still on SLI 580 Lightnings at the time. GPU's are orders of magnitude better today, but I still consider that time to be the good old days...

Yeah, I played the game before it came out... when it dropped a few weeks later, I had wished I played it first with it and the DX11 patch.

My old GTX 580 sure got a workout.

Even with my GTX 970 and FX 8320e system, in order to get it running smoothly, I needed to use NTCore 4 GB patcher so the game could use more than 2GB of virtual memory.

Playing the "Power Out" level for the first time with DX11 and the HD Texture Pack was insane.

Yeah, and a 2070 at 2GHz will blow past that. The default boost on Turing is very low compared to it's limits.

Also, as I've mentioned before, I want new silicon. New as a) not used and b) as in new architectures. Pascal is like 2.5 years old.

No doubt the RTX 2060 is a better value than the 2070, but I wanted more absolute power. The 6GB thing probably won't be much of an issue, but coming from a GTX 970, I'm tired of VRAM "issues."

Ray-tracing and EA games were an afterthought.

In the UK, FE 2060 is ÂŁ329 while the Strix 2060 is an outrageous ÂŁ455. I would honestly spend a little more for a Founders Edition 2070 over a Strix 2060.
Yup, since the only place the strix is available in the US is newegg thats 450.00 dollars aftex tax. If i buy from EVGA i can get a black edition 2070 for 510.00 after shipping (no tax). The black edition cooler isnt even that bad, people are saying it tops out ~mid 60's even overclocked. Strix is prettier but not worth coming that close to 2070 prices.

It's available now if you wish to purchase one despite the reviews.

Newegg is selling a few for close to MSRP.

IMO it doesn't make sense to buy an overpriced ASUS Dual card ~$400 or the Turbo blower for $390 when you can get other brands for far cheaper.

The Zotac board appears to drop the Onsemi powerstages in favor of cheaper mosfets even on the AMP, so no idea if that will be a good idea.
edit: QN3103 used per Techpowerup, which is a powerpak https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac/GeForce_RTX_2060_AMP/5.html

MSI's Gaming Z board uses powerblocks from Fairchild (FDPC5018SG) so it's a step down from reference as far as component choice too (although it might be using 10 of them to equalize that factor at load) and I'd expect the same thing on the Ventus (source: https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_rtx_2060_gaming_z_review,5.html).

This is a really hard decision for me lol.

Here are my options: (after tax and shipping)
EVGA single fan card (yuck) for 360 bucks on evga website
Asus strix 2060 for 450 on newegg
Asus strix 2070 for 610 bucks on amazon
EVGA 1070 ti ftw2 for 300 bucks on craigslist, guy says it has 1.5 years of warranty left
Founders edition 2060 for 375 (then id have to deal with an always green light lol)

I can afford the 2070 but its such a terrible value, ugh this graphics card market is awful. I mean its better than when crypto was a thing but still...

I also need to decide fairly soon, the only game i can play atm is WoW on this integrated gpu of my 8700k lol.

The messed up part is the founders edition has an rgb light on it, and nvidia disabled it...

That would be the easy choice, it has better build quality than any of the 350 dollar 2060's.

Why is FE cheapest of the bunch?
No markup on FE cards for 60 series, its easily the best value if the always green light doesnt bother you.

LOL the strix sold out, what the hell...if you have 420 dollars you might as well buy the strix 2070 on amazon for 550.

Some people just something because it's the best. The Strix is usually the best in a particular line-up.

I guess but the 550 dollar strix 2070 is more appealing, thats like 70 dollars off what they usually sell for.

The entire point of the 2060 is to bring rtx to the masses, the strix selling out first is just mind boggling lol.

60 series is all about value, buying a strix version destroys that and moves the fps per dollars to the toilet:

That is for the 379.00 dollar ultra, the strix would go below the rx470 even. Just makes no sense to me to buy a high end entry level product, 2070 sure 2060 nope.
