I'm planning a full while theme build. Someone locally is selling a 2x16gb Dominator Platinum RGB kit (all stealth black) for cheap.
I wanted to see if it's possible to take the headspreaders apart to paint white.
Any input would be great, or a guide perhaps where someone did it successfully.

Aren't they just glued on? Heat them up lol

I'd imagine so, but I know they use custom PCBs, so wasn't sure if the process would be the same or not.

It's not the same. I recently disassembled mine. You need a (very) small torx screwdriver. Their are 4 screws you need to unscrew. Careful as each one of the four is a pair and you could lose the one underneath if you're not careful. They are very small. Once you unscrew the screws you can remove the two collars (top and bottom) and the remove both heat spreaders. I did not need to heat them, just carefully peal them off. Then you can remove the LED white top PVC piece if you need to. but be careful with the cable as there is a latch/door that flips up to remove it. I re-assembled afterwards on my 4x16 gb kit and everything is fine. YMMV.

Cthulhu Build

I recently took apart my Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 MHz Desktop Memory - Black. I was removing the top bars & LEDs to make the RAM compatible with another CPU cooler (55 mm is too tall).
You need a 1.27 mm Hex wrench. I ordered Tekiro 7 Piece Mini L-Key Short Hex Metric Set to do my set. These worked perfectly. A clear flat surface & a small tray to hold the 8 screws (using 2 of the hex wrenches can be handy, I used the 1.27 mm & the 0.89 mm). 1.5 mm or 0.05" wrenches are too big.
Once the top bars are separated & removed you can use a small flat head screwdriver to separate the PCBs. Top bars are a zinc alloy.
The stamped aluminium heat spreader fins have a small strip of glue, but are easily peeled off. Be careful not to bend. Although I did on 1 out of the 8 pieces & it was easy to reshape & reinstall.
Scrolling up & down this page basically shows you the assembly/disassembly of a RAM stick: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/DOMINATOR-PLATINUM-RGB/p/CMT16GX4M2C3000C15
