How big should the pads be in thickness, I've watched videos that said to use 2mm, ones that said 1.5mm and even one that said 1mm, but the 1mm seems too thin for my taste. So what do you think? Also any suggestions as to which company should the pads be from ?
Before doing this check what your mem temps are. Trust me if you get the thicknesses wrong you could easily make either the mem OR VRM temps worse due to uneven/poor contact, even with superior pads. I've done lots of pad replacements on 30 series cards and it's a real pain sometimes.

Depends on the hardness of the pads and where they are placed. In general, use the thickness of the uncompressed sections of the stock pads as a guideline, and go a little thicker for very soft pads in areas that aren't highly compressed, or a little thinner for pads that are stiffer, especially in areas where the stock pads were heavily compressed.

Or, just get some good thermal putty.

As FuriouStyles mentions, using the wrong pads and/or pad thickness can cause major issues.

Sounds like a good paste, the only questionable aspect will be longevity. I have 3090 strix's and 10900k's hammering 4k projects samples and decryption passwords with passware labs + network agents so that is no joke on both gpu and cpu.
Its been almost constant 18 months without single Strix and 10900k degradation i temperatures so I know TFX is great paste that I will always use without hesitation, but there is always new product and innovations that could outperform so lets see how MasterGel Maker holds on long run 🤞
Thats what i stated, in my post the Mastergel was the best long term paste ive used im still testing cryofuzes durability (its only been in a couple months)
