I was going to post this earlier, but didn't want to make a thread for just 1 review video:

Most interesting thing is it doesn't use 320w, only about 305 max.

However performance wise the gains over a 3090 Ti don't seem to justify the cost, this gen has been very overpriced.

It will be a good idea to wait until AMD's new cards release and see if they make Nvidia drop their prices, or opt for an AMD if they are competitive. But ofc that won't stop them from selling out in 2 seconds.

Also the thermals would have been completely fine if it was still a dual slot card, with the cooler it does have, the temps sit in the 60s under load.

LOL review's been out since this morning, and this is all we got on OCN?

I feel sad. I guess forums really are dying and the kids are all on FB, Insta, and other places where thoughts are not laid out well and nor kept in archival like a normal forum.
Man makes me sad.

Anyways the 4080 is as what I thought it would be.

Well I was gonna post it quite it a while ago, but I was surprised there wasn't already a thread for it which I thought was mega sus.

So I waited until there was.

There wasn't even a 4090 reveiw thread. This place is slipping lol.

Also to be fair 40 series generation has been very disponting and demand for it is probaly not overall that strong(outside of initial first 3 month buyer demand)

4080 is awful card. It should be a 700-800 dollar card. At 1200 its a joke.

I dont think thats it.
look at how crazy the 4090 thread is. probably the most active thread on this site and then you have the 4080 which doesnt even have an owners club thread yet

I think it has to do with lack of interest.
penny pinchers are all looking at AMD
while performance seekers are in the 4090 thread

remember, this is overclock.net

I dunno how much ppl care that the 4080 pulls only 250watts when in the 4090 club every page is about "where can i get higher watt bios?!?"and look at my 3dmark scores!!

The problem with the 4080 is the price. It literally makes no sense. If you can afford a $1200 ($1549 COUGH Strix) gpu, you can afford a $1600 gpu and should just buy a 4090 and get much better performance.

Not sure I understand who this card is marketed toward.

People just don't care about 4080. Also, it in terms of overclocking it's no different from 4090 so no interest there.

Its funny, does anyone else see what both Nvidia and AMD are doing here?

By making $1200 seem like a bad buy, I am seeing so many people saying wouldn't it be great if this was $900? Meanwhile the last 80 card we got was $700 MSRP. And as for the 7900 XTX at $999, shouldn't it really be a 7800 XTX since it doesn't compete with the 4090, and with that, have a lower price?

See how they are trying to normalize the area around $900 as a "good and reasonable" price point? And the market says, well hey at least it's not $1200. Until it is next gen. Meanwhile they still got their price hike and laugh all the way to the bank.

I completely agree with this. The 3080 was still stupidly expensive, but compared to prices on everything else it was still the best value?

On the other end, cards that used to cost £50? They now cost £200+.

Nah we usually start here and move on over to the individual threads.
However lately the interest is gone, a lot of members have been banned or stopped coming here.
Yes the 4090 owners thread is bumping but man, doesn't feel the same.

Ugh I hate FB and having been 'forced' for discussions since another forum I used to be active has pretty much moved on.

Don't mind me, just an old man talking about the past that won't be back.

The thing is no one was interested in the 4080 to begin with due to its price, and these reviews have just cemented that.

Ofc bots and scalpers will still buy it out, they're gonna be in for a shock now because nobody is interested in the 4080 even at £1200 when you can just buy a 3090 Ti for less, or a 4090 for not much more.

Still only a paper launch with half the supply of the 4090. AMD will break up Nvidia's little algorithm.

yes im seeing the internet praising and going crazy for Amd's card at $1k

suddenly 1k for an 80 level card is a good price but 1200 is the most crazy thing anyone has heard

funny how perspectives change

last gen was so much cheaper
Assume rast performance around the same, the $200 premium would be for the better RT. Either way regarding the $1200, if its anything like the 4090's launch price I'm still waiting on it. To me a 4080 doesn't make sense if the 4090 exists.

Feel like Gigabyte will have a bunch close to that 1199.99 price point.

Asus however? :ROFLMAO:

Except for TPU, who gave it 5 stars and called it an "Energy-Efficient Beast". Idk what W1zzard is smoking.
