So I just ordered the Iceman ICE-CT3 Copper Edition 0.3mm, I was just about to order the EK quantum velocity 2 which is really expensive once added the import fees, but even though I don't mind the price per se, I mind the price when something does not perform as the price suggests and that's why I was skeptical of that particular block, so I will be comparing my current Bykski CPU-XPR-AM 0.5 mm micro channel waterblock against the 0.3 mm ICE MAN, just need to be patient because its gonna take a few weeks to be deliver

honestly a 20$ amazon block will do just as well as pretty much any block on the market so long as your not doing direct die and require nickle plating. your far better off getting more heat out of your loop with better fans rad/s A/C w/e. if your doing direct die then yes the micro fins and thin cut cold plates will help considerable. but if your using a stock ihs its all over priced crap that for the most part is all convex to "one size fits all" approach to fitting intel's woahfully bad IHS that no two cpu's are the same category fits nicely into. at any rate the best block i have found that is nickle plated was the koolance something or other (was a few years back now) and even that had a slight convex cold plate on it. basically you need to sand everything flat if you want good contact and tbh the 20$ amazon specials are pretty good out of the box lol.

edit: to be clear i'm not saying the block you have is better or worse. it acutally looks nice. i hope it works well for you.

The surface of the ICEMAN ICE-CT3 block is perfectly flat. I checked it with a caliper. There are no bumps and recesses - perfectly flat.
The quality of this product is top notch. Just like Alphacool
I will no longer pay for air and buy ekWb LOL)

Honestly speaking, at the current rates things are going just pick people handme downs and then save yourself spending an dime on watercooling stuff. Same with pc hardware. That's the model 'm going for when i update, just give everything away.

yeah I like my current bykski cpu waterblock and that is why I bought a Bykski GPU waterblock of which I have no complaints at all, it's just that when I got the cpu waterblock was for my AMD Ryzen 1700 for which it was great but the problem now is keeping my Ryzen 5800x cool ( and about to upgrade to the AMD 79xx), that's why I was looking for another block for like 4 months, so comparing my current 45 bucks waterblock against the 250 EK, what am I suppose to expect of?

Not OP, but Anybody have any experience with the Optimus blocks? They're a tad pricey, but the Heatkiller's are out of stock everywhere I've looked. I've had an old EK Supremacy EVO that I've used on 3-4 different rigs over the years that's currently on my 5800X3D and was looking to upgrade.
My experience with them is that I ordered a block from them in late February and it still hasn't shipped. I got an update from them in early March that it would be a couple of weeks before it shipped, and here we are in mid April with no shipping notification yet. I am fairly confident that I will get a block eventually, and that it will be top notch quality, but when that will be is a complete mystery.

Really? I ordered one from them last week and already got it. You should reach out to them. I live in the states so I don't know if that matters.

I haven't installed it yet, I also got a heatkiller IV pro that showed up as well (didn't cancel the optimus in time). I have a few other things coming in before I break my loop down and change things out, so I have a few days to decide which one to go with.

I messaged them 3-4 days ago and never heard back.

Edit - Just checked again and they literally just replied, and looking like "this month."

did you buy from aliexpress?
yeah, don't know why but thats the only place where I found it, but I'm use to order so much stuff from Aliexpress, besides that is the cheapest place simply because I don't pay import fees, I was just about to order as I mentioned ( I think i did) an EK velocity 2 block which for me is 250 dollars, and that is why I was going around and around by it since my current waterblock is a 45 dollar Bykski one, will the EK outperform the Bykski by 5 times?
