My years long stable Unify system in the past few days progressed rapidly from "Crashing occasionally" to "Will not boot".
It will not boot windows, windows recovery, OS install disks, or live operating systems but will reliably get to the BIOS.
I've tried a lot, but just to rule out some of the obvious things for this thread. I've tried updating my 1+ year old BIOS to the current 7C35vAH. I've tried disabling XMP, enabling PBO, booting with 1 stick of RAM, tried multiple RAM slots, cleared the CMOS every possible way (through the bios, with the button, taking out the CMOS battery with power disconnected).

I have found one reliable way to get the system to boot all the way into Windows, and that setting is "Game Boost", the overclocking button for babies.
I'm assuming Game Boost is jacking up voltages and that's letting my system boot successfully, but can anyone help me recreate that manually? Not sure what voltages should be changed, what some reasonable starting points are, or what increments I should step them up/down while trying to dial it in. Really just looking to get the system to power on and stay on, preferably with RAM running at its advertised speeds.
The CPU is a 5900x and the RAM is Crucial Ballistix 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16.

I'm also not opposed to just buying new RAM if that is likely to solve it.

I did get it to boot without Game Boost, and the voltage I needed to set was vcore. Interestingly it doesn't seem to matter much what I set it to, so long as I set it to a static value. I haven't pushed it too hard, but everything from 1.1 to 1.4 has let it boot fine. I set it to AMD overclocking, finding some random reddit comment that that mode would still allow the voltage to lower when idle.
Interestingly once the system does boot it seems fine to do whatever. I was able to turn on PBO through Ryzen Master after getting into windows. That re-enabled CPU boosting, and vcore has been able to bounce around without issue. Running through TimeSpy Extreme and leaving the system on but idle overnight the vcore has gone between 1.072V and 1.480V without having any issues.

Weird one hewre. When I first got the Unify I did an all core overclock.4.3Ghz needed 1.380v.Left it at def as obv in those days not much software using more than 4 cores.
But now I have tried it again and at 4.3Ghz it only needs 1.240v.Only thing I can recall thats been changed is the cooler(going from Corsair 360mm to an Arctic cooler 360mm)and the bios.
Any ideas anyone?Ta for any info.

May I ask what AMD Agesa are you using?
And what bios? I am still using the modified A.42 by Kedar.

At the mo I am on AE which is agesa 1.2.0.7. I was on A42 but found that although I could do the same mem timings on later bios(was using A92) it would do it on less voltage(1.462 instead of 1.472)Mistype above voltage was actually 1.260v not 1.240v.
Smiffy

What AMD chipset drivers are you using?

Agesa 1.2.0.3.c not good for you?
Latest drivers(august 2023)
Trying different bios to cure a usb problem.Copying from one usb external drive to another ok but if i get to many usb devices plugged in the copy slows to a crawl then just sits there at 0 bytes per second.

Im running 5800x3d with msi x570 unify and im trying to bclk overclock however, the it seems like the external clock gen isnt working at all or I have to enable it for something (im new to this), i can do 102 bclk but my 2 sata samsung ssds are not being detected which means that my external clock gen aint working. Please help me as ive spent days trying to find a solution. Ive tried the latest bios and the modded bios that was from here but it doesn't seem to work. Do I have a broken external clock gen?

(My ram timings 4x8 but have lowered the frequency due to bclk oc)

There are no x570 boards with an external clockgen. X370/x470 for example habe one but you cant use it with 5000series/3000series

SATA chips in the X570 just can't manage BCLK over ~102...

You need to use usb drives or flip over to to use NVME m.2 only.

Hey there,
is there an current link to the discord channel where Eder is active? I checked the drive folder to pickup a BIOS he modded in the past for this board because I received my 5950x last week, but the folder contains no modified bios anymore.
Thanks in advance

Did you try messaging him on his profile here?

EDIT: MSI has a bios that supports that cpu on the unify MEG X570 UNIFY | Motherboard | MSI Global
