Hi,
I recently got a Z690 Hero and a 12900KS. After reading the posts here I wasn't sure about what Corsair ram to get.
I plan to go 2Dim x 32GB and the max rated MT using the Hero board is 6600MT.
Should I be able to run the XMP profile fine for this RAM?: 2x32gb 6600MT - CL32

Or would it be recommended to go down in speed? And if yes then what speed is recommended? I don't really plan to push the RAM further than the provided XMP profile

In any case, is there a recommended Bios version to use for stability/compatibility? Or is just using the most recent version fine?
I'm on the latest, 2703. No problems at all. Be sure to upgrage Windows MEI drivers, then ME firmware, then BIOS.

Hey there, I'm back form outer space.
Just to let y'all know that 4 sticks (2X2) of this kit CMK64GX5M2B6600C32 are stable at 6200Mhz (rated 6600) with latest bios 2703 (Z690 Hero). Not too shabby, I guess? (Not great, not terrible).
Any idea what you might get with just 2 sticks?

BIOS 2802 is out; I probably won't upgrade to it as I'm getting over the stress of doing it haha. I don't have any plans to use the new Intel CPU's.

just curious to know what they broke this time :D

Anybody found out if it (2802) can be rolled back? The notes "Please note after you update this BIOS, the ME version remains the updated one even if you roll back to an older BIOS later " suggest that it can, but so many errors in the past descriptions, I wouldn't take it on face value. Like locked BIOS's not being mentioned for some time after release in the past. Not helpful for those that updated in good faith, only to discover they had a problem.

For example, right now, the BIOS says that it will update to ME 16.1.30.2264 . Then, further down the 690 Hero support page, a tool is available to update to ME 16.1.27.2176. It's not like the ME firmware can be rolled back, so why hasn't the ME tool been updated at the same time as the BIOS?

Just updated to 2802 and everything seems OK. CPU power, temp, PCH temperature and behaviour all seem normal. I don't bother with overclocking and only use XMP with my (pretty slow) RAM. I'll update here if I find anything unusual.

Just noticed that my CPU power has settled at around 12-13W - I think that might be a bit lower than it was before. It doesn't seem to spike as high when just doing normal 'Windows' stuff.

On bios 2204 my 13900ks idles at 10-12watts and with deep cstates enabled it would be under 10w. But i leave the deep part disabled.

@JohnAb new bios is ready on the oem website. z690 bios 2802 i will add it
sadly since i do not have igpu i can not use the dynamic stuff.

Sadly there is not much info. BUT..... is being use in laptops for long time now.

for what i have read for 24h, a way to reduce temps, cutting volt and clocks.

automatic power managment. adjust fans voltage cores in order to reduce the temps. IT WORKS???? No if you overclocking. let me check a way to test it since aside a webpage we have from the mokichu driver, and drivers install, there is NOTHING in windows that say, aside a devicemanger 2 driver, that is working. Maybe i am missing something There has to be a way to test this.

Updated to 2802 with some issues....

When I updated using EZ Flash, the system shutdown like it usually does...except it wouldn't boot back up. I had to manually flip the PSU switch to get it to turn back on, and then the BIOS update finished like it usually does. That was weird. Never seen that before.

Edit: Reflashed to make sure everything is OK and I had no issues the second time.

That is called the "Asus eXperience".

If it works, you don't know for how long,
if it doesn't work, retry until it works or until it breaks.

That would have terrified me. Glad it decided to work again!
