You shouldn't need to push SoC over 1.2, if that, even.
Ohh, thank you! I changed it this morning.

Those are voltages I use for 6400 RAM/2200 IF. Its just example but it may be a start better than autos. Its important to find IOD/CCD/VDDP. Too much or to low cause instability and you never know when its on auto.

Oh, this should help a lot. I really didn't think the other ones needed much tweaking. I saw you got 6400mhz @ cl28 that's impressive and hella lucky. If I'm shooting for 6200 mhz @ cl 28.
Would using your iod, ccd and vddp be a good guideline? Atm I've not run into stability issues, however I'm only at 6000 cl 28 following the original guides tweaks. Are you running 32x2 or 16x2 ?

I did look (not too long) for standard IOD/CCD voltages of 7000's but didn't find straight answer. I've found many examples of people using higher voltages (like this guide, check it out maybe it will help The big Ryzen 7000 Memory and OC Tuning Guide - Infinity Fabric, EXPO, Dual-Rank, Samsung and Hynix DDR5 in Practice test with Benchmarks and Recommendations | igor´sLAB ). I think you can use ones Ive posted as start.

Ended up with some numbers I'm happy with.
I'm mainly confused about TrdrdSd, TrdrDd, TwrwrSd, TwrwrDd.
If I manually modify these values to those I see online, I dip to about 130k-140k MB/s on Karhu Ram test.
Leaving them on auto allows me to reach 185-190. Can someone recommend values I can use as I have dual rank ram or is what auto doing good enough?
If you have any other suggestions about what I have setup, it would be appreciated! :)

@xPvn - These are a combination of a preset on my board and buildzoid's "safe" (or was it easy?) timings. I had tighter on my non-X3D, but the IMC on this CPU isn't as good and I haven't even tried to dial it in yet (and may not because I think the silicon may be trash).

Not related to the timings you asked about, but my tRC here makes no sense, but somehow is stable and performs better than at what it "should be."

Yea, I actually got my trc down to 30 with no issues as well. Makes me think it maybe broken?
I kinda just left it at 70, since it's supposed to be around tRAS + trp.

As far as I know setting it too low will just result in the IMC ignoring the set value and using a safe default.

If it somehow performs measurably better and is stable, just use it I guess?

I'll post this here, since it's about Hynix DDR5 and I've AMD platform. And I'll post it because I'm super curious but DO NOT have an AM5 motherboard yet (I did order X670E Gene, but it's not shipped out yet) to test them out.

So, I bought a cheapo G.Skill Flare X5 6000CL32 2x16GB EXPO kit to start my DDR5 adventures with ease. F5-6000J3238F16GX2-FX5 to be exact is the particular kit.

Well, here it gets a little weird. I've read some reviews and there is nothing special there; Just your typical single-sided 16GB sticks with Hynix M-Die.
But these sticks that I got; Serial number ends with 21A, indicating Hynix A-Die - that's good. The real weirdness comes from the fact that these are DOUBLE-SIDED. With sixteen chips each. Manufactured November 2023.
PMIC layout looks just like in dual rank memory, inductors at the backside of the PCB etc.

What on earth are these? 16GB dual rank with 8Gbit dies, I don't think so? Do such even exist? 32GB sticks that proved to be defective and have the second rank disabled? I really don't believe they'd be 2x32GB DR sticks accidentally installed into 2x16GB heatspreaders and package. Have you seen such before?
I saw one guy posting at local forum with same kit, and his ASRock BIOS said: "G.Skill: Hynix 16 GB. 2 Package Ranks" but he has not replied me, does he also have double-sided sticks.

What do you think?

My friends, need some baseline for 6400 ... anyone here can give me some hints where to start, in terms of voltages, main changes to do before starting fiddling with timings and such? Are the settings shared on the 1st page still good?
Right now, this is where i stand with my 6200CL28:

If 6400MT/s doesn't work - Fair chance it won't be stable.
Maybe try the following:

tRRDS: 4 if not 5 or 6
tFAW: 16
tRDRDSCL: 4 if not 5 or 6 - I can't post on 4..
tWRWRSCL: 4 or 3 maybe 2
tWTRL: 16
tWRRD: 4 maybe 3 or 2 will work.

* I'm unstable at 36 tRCD (even at 6000MT/s) so I'm jealous..

Here's mine for example:
VDD: 1.50v VDDQ/IO: 1.30v
VDDG CCD: 1.050v VDDG IOD: 0.950v - For 2200 FCLK Stability.

You can probably do better with the GENE.
I've seen others with the GENE running the same ODT settings as mine with good results.
Might wanna try to Disable GDM for a bit of latency improvement. I had to change my ODT settings to run GDM off.

Got the same kit as you. Are you using active cooling on the memory sticks? I found they're not running particularly hot for me, they do get a bit toasty on TM5 / memtestpro (max 58C).

How easy was it to get them stable with those timings with GDM disabled? (I don't even know where to disable GDM on my mobo lol, can't really find it o_O)

Regardless, these timings were ultra easy to setup and test, 0 issues, 0 errors. I actually had MUCH harder time with DDR4 BDIE on a 5800x3d lol...

Addr_cmd = buff is GDM off
Once I adjusted my ODT's as shown in Zen Timings GDM off worked for me.

I'm using a 80mm 1800rpm Noctua Fan to cool the ram, max temps are ~ 41.5 stress testing ~ 42c gaming (RTX 4090@ 450w+)

Your results look good and just 1.4v VDD so honestly there isn't much room for improvement. With higher VDD ~ 1.45+ (CL28, etc.) you could probably lower you latency 1-2ns and slightly improve your bandwidth but you are very close as is.

Soooo my experience with 6400…
Not worth it… you are better just stabilising 6200 with super tight timings. Zen4s are mehhh for getting performance out of memory oc. But it’s fun getting there for sure.

this is Hynix A-Die downbinned from 16GB to 8GB. Hence Double sided. If you still can i would return them
I suppose you mean 32GB to 16GB, but anyway.. So, half of the dies are disabled? Or is it dual rank, but half of the individual dies is used?
Have you seen such DDR5 DIMMs before?

I can return them and since I bought a proper and decent kit (TZ5 2x24GB 8000 CL40) already, I think I'll return these anyway. Just wondering, because I've never seen or even heard such, and would be interesting to test them too. If I just could get the MoBo, which won't happen this year :(

not 100% certain about that

yes also double sided as in your picture. But i do not know how they actually perform. Probably not as good.
OK, thanks! I already filed the case and will just return those. They were never ment to be more than a cheap, easy, very temporary solution. But now that I just laid the € and bought a top-notch kit I wanted, I’ll get rid of those and not worry about it anymore :D
Really hoping to get the GENE this week, I’ve been waiting for it over a month now…
