Hi, thanks, yes I have tried clearing and resetting the bios to no avail. I could start removing the sata and m2 drives, but all this does work with the 1700x. Would bios 8 or 10 be of benefit?
Yes, must go latest bios to overcome old problems.

my 3.7 years old 3800x + Galax 3600MT/s 4x8GB has been crashing at games only, got to underclock 3466MT/s for games, not sure if it's the IMC problem or the ram...... 50% 50% right !!!!

but one winter weekend 10C outside, about 15C indoor, no crash .......... and 3800x boost to 4.55Ghz again, haven't seen for long time........ why ????? thermal paste ???? IMC ???? ram ????

dilemma

dilemma

Option 1 = go all out all new 7700x + B650 Livemixer + DDR5 = HK$ 4000+++
vs
Option 2 = tight bugdet 5700x tray HK$ 1180 and hope the problem is IMC of 3800x not Galax HOF
or
Option 3 = LAST BIG PUSH 5800x3D box HK$ 2200 and hope Galax HOF no problem.

finally 5800x3D, now I hope the life of taichi x370 can sustain another 3 years+++ PLUS god bless without problems.......

remove 3800x, paste of 13W/m-K dried out, obviously, 2 years ago repaste I think........ no wonder 3600MT/s crashing at game....... more like good excuse to upgade :devilish::D:p:ROFLMAO:

reset bios, swap in 5800x3D, boot up debug code led
1st round very few numbers - monitor nothing
2nd round extra few numbers - monitor none
3rd round more few numbers - monitor none
usually 4th round monitor shows booting, but still none, and even more numbers on debug code, a good sign as long as more and more numbers show up.....
5th round lots of numbers and monitor shows fTPM Yes or No due CPU swapped ..... hahahahaa no wonder boot long time ........

finally enter windows..... immediately start HWinfo........ wow, nice, around 12 or 14 threas / 6 or 7 cores boost to 4.45Ghz ........ instead of the 3800x only 4.2Ghz no longer 4.55Ghz .......

this time return of graphine sheet 0.025mm, not thermal paste, since I'm the lazy type, not willing to repaste every christmas.....

bios is from x470 taichi beta 10.01 cross flash into x370 taichi, had been using cross flash around 2 years ago..... and never turned back..... not sure what's x470 latest bios.... but lost the excitement to always use the latest...... just laying back relax enjoying.........

5800x3D + Galax HOF original is 17-18-18-18-38-62-8-15-42-631-489-289
but taichi don't play nice with Intel's XMP, hence I decided to be lazy the see if 5800x3D can work with taichi's prefered secondaries, which makes them 18-18-18-18-38-85-6-9-38-630-488-288, notice some are overclocked like tRRDS/L and tFAW. no wonder it crash sometimes...... not smart taichi no AI assist kekekekekke. tRC shoot so high to 85, so dissapointed......

anyway...... one night ownership only manage 1 hour Ghost Recon Wildland super big open world highly stress GPU, finally got 80fps +++ 3440x1440 all max quality, 255 watts full throttle never drops........ and 5800x3D boost just a few thread/core the best 1 or 2 cores using around 60 watts, and thermal around 72C, around 10C higher than 3800x.

what bios do you have. I upgraded my x370 Taichi bios from 1.2.... to 7.3 , but it would not post at all with the 5800x cpu (previously 1700x).Iupdated it to the 8.0x bios and can now boot with the 5800x, but only half of my memory (2x 16GB Corsair DDR4 2666), as using all 4 slots results in not reaching POST. The 5800x has transformed my flightsim (even with only a 5700XT Nitro+)

what paste was that?
I don't think I've ever had MX-4 dry out on me in 2 years. My new Phantom Spirit 120 SE came with TF7, we'll see how it does.
My main issue with paste and CPU's on AM4 was processor coming out of the board together with the heatsink.
At least the pins were never damaged by it.

what bios do you have.
I'm using x470 beta 10.01 agessa 1.2.0.8
although latest is 10.10 agessa 1.2.0.B lazy to flash now.

I found an old record of 10.06 bios, do you dare to flash it, it's been removed by ASRock, I don't know what problem it has, I've not used it, because I kept using the x470 bios.

if bios does not load the ram's secondaries, manually key them in to try.

or may be mixing ALL HIGHEST latency to satisfy both the ram's requirement and motherboard requirement might be stable,

i.e. if ram tFAW is 45, but motherboard auto to 38, then keep 45.

if ram tRC is 62 but motherboard auto shows 85, then use 85.

I'm starting to wonder if this is the big problem with people reporting memory stability problems in this thread. Maybe it's because they're using the wrong bios from some other motherboard model and that's why their ram can't be stable in timings and voltages where it should be stable.

Have you tried flashing to the latest stable bios actually released by ASrock for the X370 Taichi and see if your ram is stable with that?

I don't even know what all ot that means 😅 But I'll try that, thanks. Meanwhile managed to get CL down to 18. Looks stable for now. Isn't 1.39V a bit high though?
I have been running the ram in my X370 taichi at 1.620v for the past 2 years with zero issues. SoC voltage of 1.10625v as well. But then I'm using Single-Rank Samsung B-Die ram in this computer that can handle higher voltages without an issue. This helped me get this ram stable at 3333 Mhz in this system with a Ryzen 5 2600. This may not work for all ram types though. I'm using Bios version 7.04 released by ASrock on the asrock website for the X370 Taichi. And no I won't change it to any newer bios.

Any news on beta bios for 5700X3D?
The 5700X3D only officially launched today. No one is going to release a day-1 bios update for this new processor for any motherboard. They will be updating newer motherboards first and this older one much later, if it's updated at all. You should expect multiple months of waiting for an update for this motherboard for that processor at minimum.

My thought is that the logofail vulnerability is mainly an IT concern.
Has a personal computer ever been remotely corrupted by this threat?
I briefly read about it on google and someone would have to have physical access to our computers to exploit logofail. If a bad actor some how gets into your house and has access to your computer with enough time to exploit logofail then you have bigger problems (Like probably you're being robbed and someone's stealing everything in your house).

This is inaccurate; it can be run remotely, although it would require root on the target machine. You still have big problems if someone gets root, but it is an attack that is within the realm of theoretical possibility for an end consumer. Browser privilege escalation, malicious download, you get the idea.

In Microsoft Windows where everything is run as a user with no access to the Administrator account everything runs without root privileges. This is completely insignificant or not even worth mentioning to home users as this is effectively a non-issue.
