So I've been playing a lot of RDR2 lately with a ton of mods and having a blast, mostly.
However, I just started getting random crashes-to-desktop with no error message and when checking Event Viewer, I noticed that RDR2.exe is crashing with an 'ntdll.dll' error!
This is odd since the ntdll.dll file is associated with the OS and not any game in particular.
I ran SFC /SCANNOW and DISM commands to 'clean up' any potential corrupted OS files but no integrity violations were found.
I tried removing several of the recently added mods for RDR2 and I still get the error. I can replicate the error by going to the same location in the game - Mercer Station and riding north (away from it) - game freezes for about a second and then CTD.
When researching this error, I found a link that says this means it's a "heap corruption." huh? So it's related to memory/RAM somehow? Is this an issue with the mods in the game, or the game itself, or the actual OS?
No other game causes these issues so I'm pretty sure it's not my system/OS.
This is the error in Event Viewer:
Would really appreciate any help with this. My RDR2 if fine-tuned with a lot of mods and it plays (played) really well until yesterday when I started having this ntdll.dll error.
Thanks in advance.
