thought on Aion might be CPU. my average temp while playing is 50-54c and that's with a coolermaster N520.

second thought, is your top video card able to suck in air to cool the card down? those pci-e slots are awful close. have you checked GPU temps under load?

one guy even mentioned in review that he couldn't get 2 gtx 260's to work SLI. don't know if he didn't know what he was doing or what.

As far as your performance goes theres absolutely no need to Overclock at this point...your system shouldn't be dipping this low in FPS in a game like WoW.

Run a 3dMarks06 test and post your score here...that'll give up a better idea.

Also, what resolution are you running your desktop at?

This.

No way wow is dragging your system that much...

in the SLI visual indicator in the center there is a bit of green, showing it working. i guess the green fill doesnt show up in a screen shot. but in crysis this bar is almost full at all times.

ok the sli indicator didnt show up in the screen shot. but it is working

i understand how to increase the FPS and what to turn off or down to do so.. that isnt the point of all of this, the point is that a by far cheaper system is blowing my FPS out of the water on max settings. with my equipment i shouldnt have to turn anything down, in fact i should be turning it all up past max settings..

and just to show everyone that i am serious about fixing this, i had that guy with his system do a 3d benchmark test and provided all of his specs with the results of his benchmarks.

i even have everything in the Nvidia driver set to application controlled.

but just to answer your question...

maxxed settings minus shadow detail.. shadow detail on low. before i died fps was dipping down to 10, screen froze i lagged out and died... from eye beams.

@OP

Firstly, WoW can benefit from SLi. The scaling isn't great, but it is there. It certainly won't slow down your system. Secondly, WoW is very CPU dependent and not very multi-threaded, so caches and clock speeds affect it more than multiple cores.

I certainly don't think there's anything wrong with your base hardware. My questions are:

1. Is your CPU overheating and down-clocking itself? Try blowing out the HSF - seriously, I've had a friend who this happened to.

2. Are your GPUs overheating and down-clocking themselves. Again see if you can clean/blow out the HSFs on them, and make sure they get plenty of air.

3. As a last resort, try a clean install of Windows...which version are you running?

if RODINE has the same performance problem in aion then its unlikely to be a addon problem.
wow has a long history of high end systems that would performe worse than a very low end system but they never fixed that and so no one really knows why this happens.
my best guess would be since he gets the problem in both mmorpgs, which use a lot of network traffic when lots of things happen like lots people being in the same spot or raiding, that there is some kind of problem with the cpu/network communication. but i dont have enough knowledge there to provide something other than try an pci network card and see if this fixes the problem.

im using a Linksys PCI card wireless network adaptor with srx. 10 mb/s down 1.5 mb/s

now i have tossed around what could happen with this thing in a high draw situation... the only way i have to test that would be to purchase a 150 ft network cable and plug in directly to my modem down 2 flights of stairs..

Yah, but even with one of those cards he should be able to muster more than 10 FPS.

Edit: Don't network cables lose effectiveness after 100FT?

Sounds alot like a fragmented HDD or a SLi issue to me,

>my 2 cents
