Dario Morelli has released a new version of his highly populer Real Mod that gives the physics & AI in Slightly Mad Sudio's Need for Speed Shift a complete overhaul.

Changelog:

* NEW TIRES MODEL: entirely rewritten models for all the cars with three separate "slip curves".
* NEW AI MODEL: more competitive, less aggressive, and make fewer mistakes.
* NEW CHASSIS MODEL: all data from the chassis of all the cars now are correct.
* NEW COCKPIT CAM: now it's like a real "onboard camera".
* NEW TRACK SURFACES: all the surfaces are now correct.(same as 1.0)

I personally tried it and it's AWESOME! SO improved tire grip, aerodinamic downforce and damage system (even the wheels come out and your engine blows up). Much better now. And finally the opponent cars now are competitive on Hard, and won't be hitting you out of the track.

I give it 11/10, the mod that the game was hoping for.

Actually, the DB9 race by invitation is no longer impossible due to the bouncing cars bug, because it DISSAPEARED! The same with the Veyron. Now it's more or less usable, before that, turning on the 16.4 at more than 90kph was assured spin-out.

The only thing is the drift mode. The handling changes are slightly different only, but the damage will force you to be soooo much more careful when drifting. Now the direction goes broken or you lose a wheel... lol

trying it as I post this

edit : It feels way better, but its still doesnt feel up to par with forza or GT.
I tried it with every car setting at default with stock files, and then switched over to the Real Mod 2.0.....and wow, huge difference.

Trying it, will see how it goes. NFS Shift is surprisingly fun as is however

Been playing the game on Hard with all assists off, holy crap is the AI cheezy when they spin you out.

Awesome!
+1

so I tested it and pagani zonda has FAR less tire grip ... I can't take corners with the speed I usually could ... good thing I made a backup of the original files. This stinks!

Sorry for NOOB question, Dont have too much experience with Mods for P.C. Games.
Thanx
You just have to replace the files. As soon as you click "Replace the existing file", the next time you start up the game the new handling, damage and AI config will be automatically loaded. Nothing you would worry about.
