I have my gto oc'ed to x850xtpe speeds 540/540 and was getting artifacts, but when I put the fan on full I get less artifacts, I know this is a cooling factor so should I get the ati silencer?

The silencers are great products. But the fan that comes with them could be stronger. I actually ripped out the old fan and added a 84 CFM tornado to it and it is very cool now

but also very loud. But my fan controllers lowest setting it is not too loud and performs better than the stock silencer fan. But it allowed me to break some of my benchmarks

You made a good purchase there. I have the nVidia version and couldn't be happier. I got some sick OC's after this was installed on a baseline 6800.
